Description
Hi there, my name is Glen and my family and I live on a farm in Mangonui in the Northlands. I have a full time job and I love to spend time with my children, which sometimes makes that I get a bit behind on the farm. I think it's a good idea to get some workawayers over here to help me out a little bit, while I provide accomodation and teach you whatever you want to know about living and working on a farm! There are plenty of jobs to do here, big and small, heavy and light work - together we can figure out which jobs suit you! If you are experienced in any of the jobs, nice! If not, not a problem at all. I can teach you.

We're close to Doubtless Bay which offers endless exploring, walks, fishing & great fish 'n chips! Mangonui is only 10 mins away and is one of NZ beautiful coastal settlements with a small supermarket, cafes, historic pub & small bouquet shops.
Tourist mostly come to this area for a visit to Cape Reinga, see the Kauri trees, visit the Rainbow Warrior Memorial and Waitangi Treaty grounds. There are many awesome tracks to do around here like The Dukes Nose, Saint Pauls and Cape Brett!Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

As I said, experience is not mandatory. Almost all of these jobs can be taught pretty quickly.

The property is a brand new house & small farm. There is room to park your campervan if you have one, but we also have a queen bed available in a private room. So there will be space for an individual or a couple + maybe even more in case you have a van.
The house has everything you need and more. There is a pool, spa, woodburner outside & in to keep you warm - eventhough it doesn't get really cold here in the far north. On the rainy days you can curl up in the big comfy chairs for a Netflix marathon or xBox session!
I'll be honest, I'm not the best cook. Don't expect restaurant quality food... I'll try my best though! For me it would also work if you spend some of the working time on cooking dinner! What else ...
There is no public transport in this area so it's recommended to have your own vehicle. We are a non smoker family, so no smoking inside please.

You were all amazing and I really enjoyed our conversations and looking after the animals. I've learned so much in those three weeks- not only about farmlife, like melking Blossom or looking after the lambs, but also about New Zealand's culture and nature, rugby and myself as well.
