  • Description

    Description

I'm Amandine, I founded this Farm Sanctuary 3 years ago, and we are now the home of 140 rescued animals.

There are a lot of varied tasks to do on the farm, from renovation projects, to gardening, promoting the sanctuary for donations on socials, helping with content creating, weeding, harvesting carrobs and olives (August/September and November/December), cleaning up pens, fixing barriers and many other things, general maintenance, and more. It's a beautiful property on a hill surrounded by nature and the absolute dream for animal lovers.

Please note that we are in a quite remote location. 7kms from the village. There are no shops or bars walking distance, and I only host 2 or 3 (same group) volunteers at once. You must enjoy nature and the quiet, be animal lovers, honest, communicative and reliable.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

working with animals, learning life on the farm, helping a non-profit animal sanctuary, living in nature surrounded by animals, without the noise of the city. I've also been in business for 10 years, with a background in sales and business development, and I'm now an Intuitive Mentor and Animal Communicator.

    Help

There are many different tasks and projects I need help with and this will depend on the season, what we need at time, and your skilss. To be discussed before your arrival. Some exemples below.

    - small renovation projects, including painting
    - feeding the animals
    - looking after the sanctuary if/when I'm away
    - content marketing support to spread the word about the sanctuary
    - general cleaning of the farm (a lot of manure handling)
    - gardening
    - facilities improvement (DIY lovers preferred as this is NOT my area of expertise)
    - animal care (feeding, cuddling, and cleaning their areas)
    - fundraising, events

Please note it can get VERY hot in the summer months and the house doesn't have aircon.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Wooden house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Volunteers have the house to themselves and might be required to share with 1 or 2 other volunteers.

Vegan food plus fresh eggs from our rescued hens is provided.

    What else ...

we are located 10 mins from Turis and 35 minutes drive from Valencia. There's a bus from Turis to Valencia and from Valencia to Turis. Best to have a car.

Non negotiable: while you don't need experience with animals (this can be taught and learned), you MUST be an animal lover. A lover of all animals, not just cats and dogs. This is essential and you should not message me if you're scared of animals or don't like their company.

There's a lot of land here and many options to park your van depending on the amount of privacy and nature you're looking for. Electricity access is only possible near one of the buildings.

  • Can possibly accept pets

    Can possibly accept pets

yes depending on the animals, and whether they have their own space (in your camper for example), to be discussed. It needs to be 100% safe for the free ranging animals we have at the sanctuary.
