Description
Welcome workawayer. I am Lisa born in Holland , lived 8 years in Israel and now 10 years in Portugal. I have 2 daughters, 13 and 16(mainly speak English). We lived a long time on ecofarms and communities and this spring we bought our own piece of paradise in the beautiful south of Portugal near Aljezur. Amar-Ela (love the goddess)is the name (original name, the translation is ours portuguese hebrew) is an amazing cork oak forest. Super calm yet bike walk distance from the village of Rogil with stunning beaches and bike distance from Aljezur, super alternative expathub with the highest rate of yoga teachers and babies per capita in Portugal.
We had some bad luck. We bought a container house (one room)and wanted to buy another one from a different company but got scammed, losing 6000 euros that we borrowed and leaving us in a self-built dome and the girls in the container. We managed to buy a second container divided into 3 rooms that we have now almost finished turning into a home. We have domes for volunteers ( 4m diameter tent). I am a permaculturist, expert on seeds, greenhouse, watersystems and DIY living I have some health issues, and therefore I really need some help with the building.
We have water, but it's not drinkable, we bring water from a spring.
We have a small solar system and WiFi. We have chickens running loose, cats and a puppy. We only accept dogs that are ok with cats and chickens.
We are working on improving the domes, we need help in the gardeand we have a lot of improvement to do on the house before next winter replace windows, improve kitchen change flooring ,etc.Types of help and learning opportunities

Jacob came as a saving angel when my husband suddenly had to leave due to illness in the family. He came for a few weeks but ended up staying four months. He simply became part of the family.
