Description
My partner and I have just retired from our flower farm and are in the process of turning our boat access only Bach (New Zealand holiday home) in the Marlborough Sounds into our permanent home. We have many different projects on the go that we could use some help with.
Our house is right on the Queen Charlotte track right by the water and we have kayaks, a little sailing dingy which is fun although we need to complete a minor repair on the hull (one of our projects) as well as our main boat. Other activities include swimming, fishing, tramping/bushwalks or just lying in the sun with a book.
You can get to our house on the local ferry, Cougarline, walk via the Queen Charlotte track and depending on timing we can pick up in Picton on one of our monthly trips to town.

We enjoy sharing our kiwi lifestyle. For those who love to work on a project we always have some projects on the go in the house and in our developing garden and welcome input of ideas and labour. Travellers are welcome to spend time on their own pursuits but we also welcome them to take part in all the activities we do. I enjoy helping travellers plan their time in New Zealand and showing them something of the beautiful area we live in.
Help
Our place was hit by a slip back in 2021 which created a new backyard in the bush but we need to turn that into a garden with steps and terraces including a vegetable garden. We have also been redecorating and slightly renovating the house as well so some minor woodwork and painting projects. We have a small sailing dingy in need of repairs and a workshop under the house that needs to be sorted.
We also have a 14 metre launch that we have ongoing maintenance to work on.

In addition to activities like swimming, walking, and boating I also have a large number of books and jigsaws for those who just want a few days rest between travels. Furneaux Lodge which has a restaurant, cafe and bar is also just a 15 minute walk away.

The work was varied and easy, I discovered a nice place. Every day she took us for a drive or for some wine tasting in a wonderful area !
