    Description

We (Owners couple) work and live at the farm, close to the Titicaca Lake in Puno. It is a very quiet place not more than 25 minutes from Puno city, has 150 hectars (600 acres) and it is been part of the natural reserve Titicaca.
There are two paid staff, one for the accommodation (house keeping and service), the other for the horses stable (grooming, sadelling fooding) and one family who use the resourses of the farm (Animals, grass, water and land) to generate their own income with the animal husbandry acitvity. At winter periods, when the accomodation suport them economicaly with the 5% of the income to this family. They live also in the farm but 200 meters and 800 meters from the farm house where the owners and volunteers will stay.

  • Help

    Help

We need help on a many aspects and areas, the most common is with the restoration and renovation of the old farm house, but the most important is taking care and give attention to the year old puppies. In occations I need to leave the hose farm to work as freelance tourgiuide, in that case there is not much tasks to do and the work is more like a house and puppies sitting, but no worries you are never completely alone, because the person in charge of the horses and the family who is in charge of the rest of the animals (besides puppies) stays always in the farm.
The most important for us is workawayers will be happy and enjoy staing here, the amount of working hours is veery variable, there are some more busy days and other verry relaxed, no fix schedulle or days off so this is to coordinate once you are here.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Near the lodge we have a room with independent access, this room has a batwoom 5 meters away and it has a nice warm shower. The kitchen is a bit further, but you will never cook with such a nice view!
You will probably share the room with one more volunteer or if there is availability you can also use one of the rooms from the Lodge :)

Your help at the kitchen is always welcome sometimes we cook for the whole staff, sharing food and experiences, and sometimes you can enjoy cooking your own favorite meal. This is depending on the occupancy of the lodge and how busy are the permanent staff. Since every perrson might have different diet, alergies and preferences we only provide verry basic things for you to prepare your own food , we provide trasnportation to/from the city to go for groceries.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The access to the farm is difficult to explain but once you are here and see the location is easy.
That is why normally I pick volunteers from Puno city, also we pass by the market so you can buy some groceries since food is not included.
