    Description

We are a small-scale family homestead in the early stages of development, located in one of the most beautiful areas of Latvia – the Vidzeme Highlands. This region is known for its rolling hills, cleanest air in the country, scenic views, and peaceful nature surrounded by forests and lakes. The nearest shop is 5 km away, and the closest town is 30 km. No city noise, no crowds – just silence and nature.
We practice permaculture and organic, sustainable farming. No chemical fertilizers are used – everything is done in harmony with the environment. Our mission is to create a self-sufficient, ecologically responsible homestead step by step.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Life here offers a chance to experience the quiet rhythm of the Latvian countryside. We live simply, closely connected to nature—growing our own food, harvesting wild herbs, and building things using what we have on hand. Our small homestead is slowly being shaped using permaculture principles and a hands-on, learn-as-you-go approach.

At home we speak Latvian, English, and Russian. Our teenagers are also learning Japanese, and as a family we’re generally curious about languages and different ways of life. We love good conversations—about everyday life, nature, the world, or just stories over a meal. If you enjoy sharing your culture, teaching a word or two in your language, or cooking something from your country, you’ll feel right at home here.

We hope you'll leave with new experiences, a few useful skills, and good memories. And maybe even a few new friends.
