    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Workawayers staying with us will have the chance to experience authentic Omani life and traditions. You’ll join us for local meals, learn about Omani hospitality, and discover the meaning of generosity and community that are deeply rooted in our culture. We often enjoy sharing stories, Arabic coffee, and traditional dishes like shuwa and mashuai.

You’ll also have the opportunity to explore Old Muscat’s history, forts, markets, and coastal life, and we’ll be happy to teach you some Arabic phrases and explain local customs and traditions. In return, we love to hear about your culture and language too — it’s a true exchange of ideas, friendship, and learning.

  • Help

    Help

I am mainly interested in a language and cultural exchange, with a special focus on learning Spanish, which is my current priority.

The help I’m looking for is daily Spanish conversation practice (3–4 hours per day) in a relaxed and natural way. This includes speaking together, correcting mistakes gently, sharing stories, daily activities, and real-life situations that help improve communication skills.

This is not formal teaching or paid work, but rather a mutual exchange, where we both learn from each other—language, culture, traditions, and everyday life.

I value open-mindedness, patience, and a positive attitude. The exchange is based on conversation, cultural sharing, and human connection, not on physical work or professional tasks.

This host offers a language exchange
Hello 😊 My name is Mazin, and I have a strong interest in learning languages and connecting with people from different cultures. At the moment, my main focus is learning Spanish, as I want to improve it in a natural way through daily conversation and shared experiences. I truly believe that language learning works best as a cultural exchange, where both people learn from each other by sharing language, culture, traditions, and everyday life. I offer a calm and welcoming home environment where we can practice Spanish naturally—through conversations, activities, and exploring the culture and beautiful places of Oman together. My goal is not only to learn a language, but to create a meaningful cultural and human experience, based on mutual respect, curiosity, and shared learning.

During their free time, helpers are welcome to relax, explore, and enjoy Oman at their own pace. There is no pressure during time off—it’s completely free.

Oman offers many beautiful experiences, such as:

🏜️ Exploring deserts, wadis, mountains, and beaches

🕌 Visiting historical sites, forts, and traditional markets (souqs)

🌊 Enjoying the sea, coastal walks, and nature

☕ Spending time in cafés and experiencing local Omani culture

I’m happy to share local tips, cultural insights, and recommend places to visit, and whenever possible, I also enjoy showing guests around and exploring together.

    🚗 Transport:

Public transport and taxis are available
    Ride-hailing apps are commonly used
I can help with directions, transport advice, and trip planning

Overall, the experience is meant to be flexible, relaxed, and culturally rich, giving helpers the chance to enjoy Oman while sharing languages and cultures in a friendly home environment.
