    Description

Hello. We are a young(ish) family living in rural Somerset. Our traditional Somerset long house is set amongst fields and woodlands, with plenty of local walks and bike rides from the door. We are located about 25 minutes from the coast (Watchet), 30 minutes from the lovely villages of Dunster and Dulverton, and 20 minutes from the town of Taunton. The steam railway is within walking distance. To make the most of the beautiful local area (Quontock Hills and Exmoor) you will need a car.

The area is quiet, but there are several lively market towns / villages which often host local events in either the village hall or local pubs. There are local running groups, yoga classes and singing classes. To make the most of the area access to a car is preferable.

We work from home and the children are home educated, therefore we are largely around. We would hope to welcome you to share some meals, share in experiences e.g. BBQs or bike rides. However, we do have regular commitments as a family and therefore would hope you would welcome some independence also.

We have a studio apartment in the house which has a double bed, dining table, 2 sofas, a log fire and basic kitchen equipment. Further cooking opportunities are in our family kitchen. The studio has a separate entrance.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We think we have a relaxed and friendly household, and that our house rules are fair :)
Please don't smoke or vape and please don't have parties! :)
We would hope to offer you a place to stay in beautiful surroundings.
A car is very much desirable, that way you can make the most of the area in your free time. Bus routes are available, but it would be very limiting. The Quantocks and Exmoor National Park, as well as the north Somerset / Devon coastline all offer beautiful views, walks, rides and of course an abundance of pubs and tea rooms!
