NEW OPPORTUNITY - Two projects, choose which suits you best.

    1) A sustainable Balinese inspired eco retreat / resort one hour from Medellin.

    2) Sustainable furniture and art gallery and event space in Medellin.

The first project is new, having just completed the purchase of a 11.5 hectare plot of mostly undeveloped land with a typical colombian style finca house and tons of open, quiet, lush and fertile space with epic views, three streams and small waterfalls beside the most famous mountain in Antioquia (Cerro Tusa), 2 hectares of old growth forest, over a hundred fruit trees and infinite potential.

The concept is a Balinese inspired spa retreat incorporating microhome style bungalows and small houses scattered throughout a lush botanical garden connected by meandering pathways, rope bridges and raised walkways, treehouse lookouts and gazebos with naturally inspired water features, both hot and cold pools from our own pure spring water. This is a long term project with opportunity for extended stays. We are seeking:

    1) construction workers
    2) concrete and plumbing experience for the instillation of our pools and "hot springs"
    3) gardeners and landscaping experience, botanists, farmers, experience in germination and planting
    4) architects and designers
    5) big dreamers and hard workers interested in a long stay.

    Option number 2:

The Galeria is the realization of a lifelong dream to combine a passion for art, design, travel, ethical business and sustainability. I founded my first business at the age of 25, a hand made, fair trade clothing label working with indigenous families and co-ops in Peru and Ecuador. Through hard work, sound ethics and perseverance the company I founded has grown to employ more than 100 people on 3 continents. Now that the clothing line is running smoothly and producing a profit, I have set about to make a lifelong dream a reality. A space to display art, design, decor and treasure collected from around the world, a venue to host events to educate and inspire change, and a business that provides a livelyhood for people from Medellin as well as the artisans whose talents illuminate the gallery.

I am fluent in Spanish and have several audio courses here I can share for free as well as offering my time as a tutor while we work together. I am a sail boat captain and a freediving instructor and willing to offer my expertise in both those subjects. I have worked as a designer, writer, and entrepreneur and have travelled extremely extensively for a long period of my life and would consider myself an expert of sourcing products in foreign countries and starting the sort of enterprise you will be volunteering at. I have lived in Colombia for more than 3 years now and travelled extensively here and can offer great advice on where to go.

I am looking for intelligent, self starting people who can adapt to the project and work alongside me as well as adopt the project as their own and contribute their own ideas to it.

    For the farm,

    1) construction workers
    2) concrete and plumbing experience for the instillation of our pools and "hot springs"
    3) gardeners and landscaping experience, botanists, farmers, experience in germination and planting
    4) architects and designers
    5) big dreamers and hard workers interested in a long stay.

For the gallery, I am looking for a social media expert with a good camera to help photograph my products and launch campaigns on facebook, instagram, and youtube to get my brand recognized and start directing traffic to my gallery space. The concept here includes an auteur cinema and art exhibition space so I want to organize events which bring people and influencers through the gallery. This same person, if they have skills with photoshop, can make up templates for brochures or hand flyers and posters which advertise the events here and the gallery itself. Gardening skills are also appreciated. I am a busy person and the gallery has been a lot of work to pull off - these sort of projects are usually undertaken by a team or a group of investors and I find myself running like crazy to get things done a lot of the time. I don't want people here who are not able to think or work independently - I may give you a project but if you have a better idea, please share it with me. I value creativity and intelligence and new ideas. I can offer spanish lessons, I am fluent in both english and spanish, and I have a lot of expertise in foreign trade and import, design, and business, and am always keen to talk to interested, interesting people.

    Accommodation

Farm: Typical colombian style finca house, 1 private room, 8 bunk beds in a shared dorm room, free reign of the finca and a 20 minute walk to town, use of the farm bike. Access to the new properties as they are constructed.

Gallery: Bed in a private room, 1 double mattress and 2 single bunks in a separate room. The building is located 20 minutes walking from the center of El Poblado, and 3 blocks from the metro station so transit throughout the city is very easy and the building is very centrally located. I provide granola, eggs, milk and coffee for you to make your own breakfasts. Also i love to cook so there is a great selection of spices and such that you can use if you also like to cook.
