Description
Hello! We're a young family living on a peaceful island just 10 minutes from downtown Arad, Romania. My wife and I recently moved into her parents' home to raise our newborn in a quiet and nature-filled environment. The house is located in a unique residential area with about 400 houses, all surrounded by the Mureș River. Every morning, you can enjoy the sunrise right by the water – it’s one of the most beautiful parts of living here.
Later this year, we plan to start a home extension project with the help of a local builder. Until then, the house remains as is, and we’re focusing on some general maintenance around the yard. We’d love help with tasks such as treating the stone paths, painting the fence, trimming the hedge and mowing the lawn. We also have a small animal family you’d be caring for – one dog, four cats, and a parrot – all friendly and part of the household.
The house has all the essentials: electricity, water, a coffee machine, cooking facilities including an oven, electric stove, and air fryer, and all the necessary kitchenware. It’s a cozy place to experience rural Romanian life while still being close to the city.
We’re looking forward to welcoming someone who enjoys peaceful surroundings, animals, and light outdoor tasks. Let’s share stories and make great memories!

By staying with us, Workawayers will get a taste of authentic Romanian family life in a peaceful riverside community. We enjoy sharing our traditions, food, and daily routines, and we’re always happy to cook together, swap stories, or show you around the area.
You'll be part of our small but lively household, and there's plenty of opportunity to practice Romanian (or English, if you're learning). We're also happy to learn about your culture and language, and we believe that cultural exchange is a two-way street.
You’ll have the chance to meet neighbors, join in on family barbecues, go kayaking or fishing on the river, and explore the nearby Mureș Floodplain Natural Park — a perfect setting for nature lovers.
Whether it's over a cup of coffee or while working side-by-side in the garden, we hope to learn from each other and create meaningful memories across cultures.

Help
We are looking for help with light outdoor maintenance and taking care of our home surroundings. Some of the tasks include:
Lawn mowing and trimming the hedge
Treating the stone paths in the yard
Painting the fences
Organizing firewood in the woodpile
Taking care of our animals: 4 cats, a dog, and a parrot
The work is not physically demanding, and we’re happy to show you how we usually do things. If you enjoy working outdoors, love animals, and like spending time in a peaceful environment, we think you’ll feel right at home here. Tasks can be flexible depending on your skills and preferences – we just appreciate an extra pair of hands and good vibes!

Accommodation
Workawayers will be staying in a cozy home consisting of a living room with an open kitchen and a separate bedroom. The bedroom is equipped with a comfortable queen-size bed, a TV, and a large window offering a beautiful view of the surroundings.
Outside, there is a peaceful terrace where you can relax and enjoy the view of the river. We also have a private dock, perfect for fishing or simply sitting and watching the water flow by. For those who enjoy evenings outdoors, our private beach is the ideal spot for a campfire under the stars.
The house has everything you need to feel at home, and we’ll do our best to make your stay both comfortable and memorable.
What else ...
Our home is located about 8 km from Arad city, on a peaceful island that can be reached either by car or by bicycle. Please note that there is no public transport to the island. However, we can help with transportation to and from the city, especially after 5 PM when I return from work. My wife will be staying with our baby at her parents’ home nearby, so communication and coordination will be easy.
One important thing: we kindly ask that Workawayers help us maintain a clean and tidy home during their stay. We believe that a respectful and organized space helps everyone feel more comfortable and relaxed.

We have a good internet connection, so remote work is definitely possible. As long as you can help with the outdoor tasks we've listed, you're welcome to get your digital work done during your free time. It’s a peaceful place, perfect for staying focused when needed.
Can possibly accept pets
We’re happy to host Workawayers who travel with pets, as long as they are well-behaved and don’t cause damage around the house or yard. It’s important that you clean up after them — just like we do with ours! Your pet must also get along with our animals: we have four cats and a very friendly dog who loves meeting new companions.
