    Description

My husband and myself have 4 kids (4, 2, 8 month old twins) and we are looking for someone to join our family.

A little about our farm: We believe farming with nature is the key for life. Being connected to the land for generations to come. We rotationally graze all of our animals and raise grass-fed and finished cattle. We also have milk cows and goats, chickens, and lots of dogs. For most of the year we move our cows at least twice a day. Sometimes they are in a bigger pasture if we are on a hunting or camping trip. We’ve just planted apple and peach trees for our cows to graze around, with berry bushes growing beneath them to complete the orchard (if our guard dogs keep the deer out long enough to get established). Our spring-fed water flows throughout the property, filling several ponds along the way. Our property has a beautiful river running through it, plus a wood-fired sauna and hot tub to enjoy while surrounded by nature.

A bit about us: We grow all of our own food for our own consumption and focus on eating the most nutrient-dense ingredients nature has to offer — red meat, organs, eggs, raw dairy, fruit, and raw honey. We strive to live as toxin-free as possible and are currently building a natural log cabin to call home. Most of my days are spent wrangling kids, tending the garden and orchard, and milking cows. Every day I’m out with the animals, milking cows and goats or gathering fresh eggs from the chickens. I love turning fresh milk into homemade cheese and preserving the harvest from my garden, so we can enjoy wholesome food all year long. Learning and practicing traditional skills keeps me grounded and connected to the past, while exercising and focusing on healthy living help me stay strong and energized for the work each day brings. There’s something deeply satisfying about working with my hands, caring for my family and animals, and building a life rooted in simplicity, sustainability, and self-sufficiency.

We live a simple, natural life, focused on staying connected to the land. We question mainstream narratives and dig for truth, even when it means going against the grain. Our goal is to raise our children free from unnecessary outside influence—teaching them real-world skills, critical thinking, and self-sufficiency instead of blind obedience. We grow our own food, make our own choices, and live by our own values. To us, living naturally means trusting our instincts, doing our own research, and creating a life that reflects freedom and independence.

Seeking a positive, hardworking person to join me on the homestead - where hard work, good energy, and simple living come together every day.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live quite differently than a lot of families. We keep close to home except for when we go adventuring often. Fishing, going to the beach, walks, hikes, hunting, skiing. We have a lot of farming knowledge coming from a conventional orchard background and now transitioning to regenerative practices focusing on cattle and fruit. We are looking to farm with nature, healing the soil to grow nutrient dense food. We are a close family who spends nearly every day together. We would love to get to know your culture and lifestyle to learn what is important to you!

I would love an extra hand with tidying the house and light chores while chasing kids around. We try to spend most of the day outside, so there are normally many projects on the go.

We grow all of our own food and eat an animal based diet. Basically only buying some fruit until our trees are more established. Meals are incredibly nutrient dense and simple. I make a ton of cheese, so if you have ever wanted to indulge in any sort of preserving, I do a lot.
Looking for someone who loves kids and is hard working, but also likes to have some fun!

A couple different options since we are currently in the middle of our cabin build. Depending on when you are coming, we can discuss this further!

    What else ...

Edgewood is a rural community nestled along the Arrow Lakes. Nakusp (an hour away) would be our closest town. Fun little spot with hot springs, hikes, and a couple nice cafes. Really beautiful area, but if you are looking for a more touristy destination its probably not the best location for you.

***We cannot do any fragrances in or around our home. I am very sensitive and get migraines. Non toxic personal products are a must***
