  Description

  We are a family of three who live in the high Reggio Emilia Apennines at the foot of the National Park, in a small village nestled in the woods. We have chosen a life tied to seasonal rhythms and craftsmanship. We would be happy to share our daily life with someone who would be willing to care for our son for part of the day.
  
  Siamo una famiglia di tre persone che vive sull'alto appennino reggiano ai piedi del parco Nazionale, in un piccolo borgo attaccato al bosco.
  Abbiamo scelto una vita legata ai ritmi stagionali e all'artigianato.
  Saremmo lieti di condividere la nostra quotidianità con qualcuno che abbia piacere di prendersi cura di nostro figlio per una parte del giorno.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Miriam practices various traditional weaving and wool dyeing techniques. Giovanni specializes in various agricultural practices (vegetable gardening, small fruits, animals, wild foraging) and artisanal practices (carpentry, knitting). We have young neighbors and a network of contacts with whom we collaborate on self-production whenever possible. The area offers several refuges and beautiful hiking opportunities; trails start from our house or nearby. You can also walk to the stream. In the summer, the town and surrounding areas are very lively and full of activities. We are excited to share our culture and welcome the personal tastes of those who choose to spend time with us.
  
  Miriam si occupa di svariate tecniche di tessitura storica e tintura di lana. Giovanni di varie pratiche agricole (orto, piccoli frutti, animali, raccolta selvatici) e artigianali (falegnameria, maglieria).
  Abbiamo vicini di casa giovani e una rete di contatti con cui collaboriamo nell'autoproduzione, per quanto possibile.
  In zona ci sono diversi rifugi e possibilità di fare belle escursioni, i sentieri partono da casa nostra o da vicino. Possibilità di andare al torrente.
  In estate il paese e le zone vicine sono molto attive e ricche di attività.
  Siamo entusiasti di condividere la nostra cultura e di accogliere la cultura personale di chi deciderà di passare del tempo con noi.

  Mainly childcare (6 years old) to allow us to focus on our work and our son to spend quality time. Playing outdoors or indoors, reading, cooking, walking.

  Accommodation

  Private room in a separate unit. Bed linens and towels are provided. A shared bathroom is available, and kitchen use is available upon request. The house is an old stone building, adjacent to the family home. It has a front garden and a back lawn with a vegetable garden, chickens, and trees. Meals are served in the family home.

  La casa è una costruzione antica in sasso, accanto all'abitazione della famiglia, ha un giardino antestante la casa e il prato sul retro con orto, galline, alberi...

  In your free time, you can enjoy various hikes, from the village to peaks over 2,000 meters high. Swimming in the stream is also possible. The area is cool even in the hottest summer months. The area is poorly connected by public transportation (buses from Reggio Emilia run twice a day, Monday to Saturday). It can be reached by car from Modena and Reggio in about 1.5 hours; from Lucca and Massa in about 2 hours. Mobile coverage is limited to TIM and Vodafone. Wi-Fi will be available at the workawayer's accommodation. We are committed to respecting the neighbors and promoting good coexistence.
  
  Nel tempo libero si possono fare escursioni di varie tipologie a partire dal borgo fino a vette di oltre 2000 mt. Possibilità di bagni nel torrente.
  La zona è fresca anche nei mesi estivi più caldi.
  La zona è poco collegata con mezzi pubblici (autobus da Reggio Emilia 2 corse al giorno lun-sab), si raggiunge in auto da Modena, Reggio in 1.30 h circa; da Lucca, Massa 2 h circa.
  La rete mobile è limitata agli operatori Tim e Vodafone. Ci sarà il Wi-Fi disponibile presso l'alloggio del workawayer.
  Ci impegniamo a rispettare il vicinato e la buona convivenza.
