Description
We welcome people to help us with our little bit of paradise. Our 10 hectare property includes:
* A stretch of the stream that we've cleared of exotic pest plants and are slowly replanting in NZ natives. We've planted over 8,000 plants so far. Keeping them alive is a big focus of the care we provide our land. Our aim is to once again have native birds nesting here.
* A native nursery, supplementing our planting with about 300 home grown natives each year
* An small vineyard with 1,200 Pinot and Cav Sav grapes.
* A large vegetable garden, berry house and orchard where we grow much of our food
* Flower gardens.
And swing in the hammock! Detox from the internet in our off-the-grid location (ie internet is scant!). We're located between the boutique wineries of Martinborough and the dramatic coastline of Castlepoint. There's always something to do - tending, pruning, some machine work if you're comfortable and experienced with this, relaxing.
Accommodation is in the main house, with a separate bathroom.

We are both 6th generation New Zealanders, love Aotearoa/New Zealand and are keen to share our experience and history of this wonderful country. We're a middle aged couple, one of us is a superb cook, the other a doctor, both are musicians. Our place is a gathering point for friends, family, retreats and neighbours. We have traveled to many parts of the world, and enjoy welcoming people in return
Help
Ours is a 9 hectare rural property that we are slowly developing. There is opportunity for many skills - rural work, tending the vines, house maintenance... Depending on the time of year we need help with pruning and tending the vines, picking the grapes, lawn moving, gardening, tree planting and household maintenance.

Accommodation
Accommodation is in our large, rambling and warm house. We have single and double rooms, two bathrooms, an inviting kitchen, and sofas in front of the fire.
What else ...
We are 20 km from the boutique wineries of Martinborough, on the way to the dramatic east coast coastline, and on a popular 60 km cycling route. The climate is warmer and stiller than in the towns of Wairarapa and dramatically better than Wellington!
