Description
Hi, I'm Kerry from New Zealand, 'yes' a Kiwi. I have recently joined Workaway as a volunteer, as a means to experience a deeper more meaningful cultural exchange when travelling. I was fortunate enough to retire early, so now travel. I enjoy the outdoors, sports, keeping myself fit, and I enjoy nothing more than being around interesting people from all walks of life.
I have visited 50+ countries, and have lived and worked overseas for half my life. I initially trained as a teacher in NZ and then spent two years teaching English in China. From there I progressed into business, working in trading, sports marketing and magazine publishing in Hong Kong, owning a share in a Japanese restaurant in Manila, to living and owning a factory in China for 15 years.
Apart from the above, past work experience would also include: general farm work / landscape maintenance, asparagus and apple picking, I have worked in a plant nursery and on a Kiwifruit farm, and most recently, I worked in a landscape supply company. I have tractor and loader experience.
I consider myself a positive person, adaptable, and very much a team player.
