Description
🌻🌼🌱Heya everybody! Looking for someone to lend a hand on April-May. Longer stay would be a great option too 😊🌱🌼🌻
We are a young couple trying to lead healthier and as sustainable life as possible at THIS moment, learning something new with every day. We love everything that grows, taking care of animals and coming up with new ideas to create a better, more cozy, more convenient place to live in and growing anything from the seed, and most important, trying to improve every inch of the soil. There is always a lot to do not even mentioning the up coming projects and the ones that were left aside...That´s why it would be pretty amazing to have some help over here and in the end of the day to share that nice feeling of accomplishment :) .
Our quinta (farm) is the 3rd property we invite helpers to. Hopefully, it’s going to be our life project, which we just have started over. The land has a bit of everything - old vines, olive trees and some fruit trees (most of them cherries), some berry bushes, vegetable garden to have our organic veggies from and herbs on every corner :) , chickens for eggs (also hatching our own), 4 dogs, a cat and of course lots of flowers and unending sea of brambles! Also, time to time we are going to the family farm to help with the thing or two over there.Types of help and learning opportunities

We will take care of garden and animals together, do some social work in eco markets, make soaps and natural cosmetics, collect seeds, herbs and other material which can be used for infusions, learn about olive oil extraction (in November one can see the process for fruit on the tree till final product) and much more.
Help
We are flexible with help, cause there are all sorts of things to do here depending on season. Planting and pruning mostly in the spring, collecting olives/grapes in the autumn, in the winter/spring months the vegetable garden is being started and needs attention all year long, wood cutting, helping to build /rebuild or esthetic finish, even giving a bath or a cuddle to a dog. We would like to make some peaces of pallet furniture, so person with experience on this and patience to teach would be really great. Also we like to upcycle stuff, so you are welcome to join these little projects. Last but not least, it would be nice to share the house keeping. More hands - faster it´s done. You do not need to be good at all of these things - any kind of help will be appreciated as long as it´s given with joy!

You are welcome to stay in our house, which has a guest room. We'll share kitchen and hopefully share cooking as well ( one way to get to know the different culture, isn´t it? :) ) If you are looking for a spot to set your tent and have some quiet time there is plenty of space to camp.
What else ...
The farm is 15 min. away from Covilhã by car, a bit hihger up on the way to Serra da Estrela mountains, where you can have a swim in heavenly places during the summer and winter season offers possibility to ski. On your free time it's worth to trip around the area because it has lots to offer from museums till ancient stony villages.
In May small towns around start the time of Feiras (fairs) and Festas (festivals)! From this time on till mid autumn every weekend you can go to celebrate and enjoy yourself in a different place.
By the way there is a bus stop 10 min away so even without a car there is no problem to go out on your own.A little more information

Thank you very much billy you always invited to came and luck to the future Miguel & Silvija
Miguel & Silvija are wonderful people! My experience with this workaway is slightly different to others, as I was house sitting rather than the conventional duties. I did leave slightly earlier than expected due to family problems and both Miguel & Silvija were very very kind about the whole situation, couldn’t thank them enough. The… read more
I enjoyed all the time we spent together! Work and leisure! Marta is not just hardworking, but super fun too, so olive picking wasn't boring at all. The weeks went by laughting, working and speaking Portuguese. We were pretty good team ;) I hope our ways cross at some point and it'll come up something substantial out of it .
