Description
We want to get the granite stone walls windproof, the roof waterproof and the ancient oven fireproof and we will all change into earthmen and women ;) ...
We are a young family that feels very blessed to be sharing this place which is full of ancient history, an old watermill, bakery-oven, year-round swimming and splashing in the river, big boulders and small caves...
Being here most probably brings about a mysterious yet delightful feeling of being connected with everything around you and mostly to your inner self.
We are Annie, Grim, baby Juniper, Rupert the dog and McFlory and Funky our twinsister cats and what we want is an harmonious life. This is a beautiful journey towards completing more and more circles and restoring our inner and outer eco-systems in a joyful and caring way.

Everything is still in the start-up phase and that makes this place a total playground to add your personal touch to it. And at the same time this means that there is still a lot we do manually (like carrying up water).
Building is the main focus for now, and we’ve got plenty of experience and knowledge to share about it.
We have a tentative and sensible approach to permaculture style gardening and are shaping and creating a supersweet fruitcandy forest!Projects involving children

Help
We will continue to renovate the ancient bakery house; a traditional Portuguese granite stone building with a massive (pizza) oven inside.
The mission is to reinforce the walls, build a wooden mezzanine, put the traditional ceramic rooftiles on and probably some more things escaping my mind now :D .
It will be a hands-on project in building where you can show off your carpentry skills. From time to time the garden or one of the 77+ fruit trees will demand our loving care or throw us their fruits of abundance... nyum!
Every day we will cook a meal together, with veggies from local markets and the garden!
We’ve arrived about three years ago so most of our time goes to listening to the place, learning a lot from it and from nature and installing the basics.
So a hot shower we have (in case you know how to light a rocket stove) and even a private beach and outdoor kitchen with a springy earthen floor and a small solar panel to charge your phone or some small electronics.
If you say yes I like this vibe and I’ve got some hands and muscles to flex, some experience with building and the power tools involved, feel free and welcome to come and join this experience with us!Languages spoken

We currently have one of these bigger quechua tents, ideal for 1 person or a couple - includes matrass and sheets and blankets and a cosy warm water bottle if needed. Because the nights can still be cold (or humid) and we live close to the river, you need to be a toughie :) .
What else ...
As far as you can see, there are hills around us.
With our rubber boat, mandala or unicorn you can paddle up the river and see some really beautiful rock formations.
Just 1,5 km downstream there is a hotspring which is possibly accessible if the river is low enough.
The closest bus stop is about 4 km away and we are happy to pick you up there when you come to the event.A little more information

Spend the better half of 2 months here, and it was amazing! I really felt part of the cozy family bubble that they have crafted over the years.
From early morning until late at night there would be this amazing serene feeling all over the place, we always kept up the good spirit and there was never a bad vibe,… read more
