Natural building event: from the 7th to the 20th of September
We feel very blessed to be sharing this place which is full of ancient history, an old watermill, bakery-oven, year-round swimming and splashing in the river, big boulders and small caves...
Being here most probably brings about a mysterious yet delightful feeling of being connected with everything around you and mostly to your inner self.
We are Annie, Grim, Rupert the dog and two teenage ladycats and what we want is an harmonious life. This is a beautiful journey towards completing more and more circles and restoring our inner and outer eco-systems in a joyful and caring way.
Happy to share this joy!
DIY and building projects
Everything is still in the start-up phase and that makes this place a total playground to add your personal touch to it.
Building is the main focus for now, and we’ve got plenty of experience and knowledge to share about it.
We love a tentative and sensible approach to permaculture style gardening and are shaping and creating a supersweet fruitcandy forest!
From the 7th to the 20th of September we will continue to renovate the ancient Miller’s house; a traditional Portuguese granite stone building.
Expect to play with clay, collect materials like crystals and wood in the river and forest around us, work on the roundwood roof structure and swim your sweat off whenever you feel like it. Grim is a real building expert - I’m his girlfriend, so I like bragging about him ;) - so you will learn a lot about natural building and the materials and all sorts of building things.
Noon-time is hothothotter so ideal for a swim and a siesta, therefor hammertime will happen - depending on the heat of the sun - possibly early morning and early evening. Food will be cooked together and yummyyyyy, from local markets and the garden!
We’ve arrived a year ago so most of our time goes to listening to the place, learning a lot from it and from nature and installing the basics.
So a hot shower we have, even a private beach and outdoor community kitchen with - recent upgrade - a springy earthen floor and a small solar panel to charge your phone or some small electronics.
If you say yes I like this vibe and I’ve got some hands and muscles to flex, feel free and welcome to come and join this 2-week experience with us!
We’ve got a few big tents with matrass and blankets and sheets if needed
As far as you can see, there are hills around us.
With our rubber boat, mandala or unicorn you can paddle up the river and see some really beautiful rock formations.
Just 1,5 km downstream there is a hotspring which is possibly accessible if the river is low enough.
There is a bus stop about 4 km away but we are happy to pick you up when you come to the event.
