I spent four days at Lavinia's house. It was my first Workaway ever, and I’m really glad it went this way. I got to experience the Irish countryside and took the dog, Fleur, on a few walks. The cats, Hazel and TacoCat, are lovely and really cuddly. It was nice to start my mornings slowly with a few hours working in the dome. The kids have a lot of

But my favorite memory has to be trying s’mores for the first time. Thank you so much for the great time, and best wishes from Germany!

We spent 2 weeks at the Lavinia's House. It's a great family with lovely persons !
Lavinia and Dave are really dynamic and they brought us everywhere ! We visited lots of places like Cork 2 times, the Ring of Kerry with the Paddywagon, Youghal...
Lavinia helped us to do some activities too, like running, dancing and dog racing.
Dave works a lot
… read more but we had great moments with him, on the beach or to visit his society !
Misha and Ewan are rather shy but love to bounce with us on the trampoline.
And Fleur, their dog, is really really sweet, like the kitten !
Unfortunately, we slept on an old caravan. It was not really pleasant but if you're not afraid about spider and you can sleep on a strong mattress, there is no problem !! ;)

Quentin and Noëllie stayed with us for 2 weeks in July 2023. They are brilliant! They are really lovely people and hard conscientious workers. We were away for 5 days and they took care of our pets and home. We were able to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing the place was in good hands! In just 2 weeks they did loads of gardening work, indoor and

I spent two weeks with Lavinia, Misha, Ewan and Dave. The work was easy house job: painting, a lot of weeding, grass cutting, pantry reorganizing. Though the house is in the middle of nowhere, Lavinia was very mindful of that and helped me with directions for walks or bicycle routes, she always offered me a lift when she left to somewhere by car,

I was absolutely included in the family life, I was part of the common activites: going to the beach, Dungarvan, visiting a hidden waterfall with friends, and Youghal, where the grandparents live, and where the Ironman competition took place on my last weekend, so we were cheering for the Ironkids together. The kids are shy and very cute, sometimes they even gave me little gifts. I still have the little fish Ewan made for me, and Misha plays the accordion very well. Lydia stayed with us for a week. She is a lovely girl, shy but chatty, friendly and easy going. Unfortunately I had a busy week with kids being unwell etc so Lydia was left to work alone, she got some weeding, planting and painting done which was badly needed! She was happy to have opportunities for exploring nearby places and try irish set

I spent one week with Lavinia and her family.
Lavinia is a good soul. She really cared about me having a good time and I really appreciate that!
I mainly did some work in the garden (weeding, planting) and I could learn cool things about plants/weed from Lavinia, for example how Ivy can help with your laundry and in general what one can make out
… read more of them😌. It was not too hard and she was flexible and fair with working hours. And she handed me vegan snacks in between hihi. She always made sure that there is delicious (vegan) food for me ❤️ She also knew that I like dancing and that I was interested in Irish Set Dancing so she made the effort to look up a class for us to go to! That was really thoughtful of her and describes her pretty well 😇 The kids were a bit shy at first but with a bouncing session on the trampolin and some days I eventually won them over and had some fun with them. Lavinia sometimes would tell me things she's done/experienced in life and I always found it pretty cool! 😊 Dave was on a work trip most of the time I was there but in the end he gave me a lift to Cork and we had some great chats and I got a free city tour from him!
I also enjoyed staying in the Van for my sleep, it's a nice oasis just for you and I found it cozy (Lavinia made sure I had plenty of blankets!)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I spend 3 weeks with Lavinia, Dave, Evan and Misha and it was a perfect first workaway experience for me! I had some interesting projects to work on and I really feel like I've helped this family without working too much, you will have time to go on trips here on the afternoon and I really enjoyed the surroundings!
The vegetarian meals of Lavinia

Jules was shy for the first day or two then really settled into our home! He was very obliging and happy to do any task I asked of him. He was very comfortable playing with the children and they had a lot of fun with him. We would have been happy to extend his stay if we had had the space. Best of luck Jules with the rest of your stay in Ireland!

Emilie & Quentin are a really lovely couple. Unfortunately I was really busy while they were here and was not able to give them much attention, however they worked away despite also not feeling well themselves. They also made lovely crepes for us! Ewan age 5 says Emilie was his favourite ever workawayer!

We spent 2 weeks with Lavinia, Dave, Misha, Ewan without forgetting Fleur (the dog) and the cats !! It was a very good experience for our first workaway. They are very nice and we were happy to taste the Lavinia’s vegetarians recipes. The kids had a lot of energy and we played at the famous tomato game hahahaha. We also had a drink with Dave on a

We have no hesitation in recommending Jack & Dainora as workawayers to other potential hosts.
They have a wide variety of interests to chat about, they were eager to try new things, learn new skills and complete tasks to the best of their abilities. They were patient with the kids and happily read stories to them. Jack & Dainora initially came for

Sorry for the late review! We had a fantastic time, and would really highly recommend Lavinia and Dave to any other workawayers! We felt completely integrated into the family, they were so welcoming from the very start. The kids are enthusiastic, engaging, and energetic. We also had our own space to relax in the campervan. This was overall a

They trusted us with a wide variety of jobs - it was really cool to be given responsibility for actually building important things. We had never done any woodwork before and we managed to build a raised bed, and after helping Dave install a French drain one day we were trusted to do the next one entirely ourselves. They were super flexible with the working hours, and more than once we were given a half day for an impromptu day trip. We also particularly liked being able to choose which jobs to do on any given day from a list that was updated on the go.
Youghal and the surrounding areas are a really beautiful part of Ireland, there is a surprising amount to see in the town. The area has a lot to offer in terms of nature: lovely woods, seaside views and an ancient ring fort atop a nearby hill. Lavinia was extremely helpful with dropping us off and collecting us from whatever excursions we planned, and was happy to bring us along whenever the family were going out.You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Georgia transformed our very overgrown geodesic growing dome into a beautiful space again! She was happy to work alone but also slotted herself in to our home life with ease.
Left by host for Workawayer (Martí)
Martí was our first Workawayer and stayed for just over 2 weeks.
He is chatty, friendly, open-minded and seemed happy to throw himself into our family routines and activities whether it was painting walls or trying out Irish dancing!
The kids were mad about him and he was excellent with them!
It was a pleasure having Martí to stay!

Lavinia and Dave are a grate couple, quiet and peaceful place and two lovely children with lots of energy!
I stayed there during 2 weeks and 3 days, sleeping in a clean and comfortable van and carrying out different tasks as grass cutting, strimming, and painting.
During this days I had the opportunity to see the first Ironman competition in the

The Lavinia vegetarian recipes were delicious, although some day I was also eating some meet recipe from Dave :P
Thank you for all this days!
I wish you the best, and lots of 'tortilla de patatas' for Misha and Ewan, they love it! ^^You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
