    Description

    Welcome!

    What We Offer

Immerse yourself in the natural splendor of our farm, where spring water, fresh air, and stunning vistas await. Set up high in the mountains near Guarda in central Portugal, our beautiful Quinta spans over 30 hectares, much of it untamed beauty. From the tranquil sounds of nature to the enchanting views stretching all the way to Spain, every moment here is a feast for the senses.

Conveniently accessible via public transport, our farm is just 5KM away from the village of Gonçalo, ensuring that even those without personal transport can easily explore the area's attractions. A bus passes at the bottom of the hill 4 times a day. Experience the serenity of rural life as you revel in the hum of insects and the birdsong that fills the air.

    What We Need

No matter your background or expertise, there's a place for you here. From clearing land and tending crops to assisting with gardening and renovation projects, there's always plenty to do. Whether you're wielding a shovel or honing your carpentry skills, every contribution helps us inch closer to our vision of a self-sufficient homestead.

Our farm thrives on diversity & we have lots going on, so if you possess any specialised skills or ideas, we'd love to hear from you. Join us as we embrace permaculture practices and embark on new adventures together.

    Living Facilities

Retreat to the comfort of our cozy caravan, complete with ample sleeping space, clean bedding and cooking facilities. Enjoy the luxury of a solar shower with breathtaking views, and feel free to take a dip in one of the nearby swimming spots to cool off on hot days. For those who prefer camping under the stars, ample space awaits, though please note that fires are strictly prohibited.

Families are warmly welcomed, though we ask that parents remain vigilant, as our farm is teeming with life and occasional hazards. If you have your own camper or caravan, we'll gladly accommodate you according to the size of your vehicle in a spot of your choosing.

    Expectations

To ensure a mutually rewarding experience, we kindly request that volunteers commit to a minimum stay of one week. This allows ample time for acclimatisation and meaningful contributions to our projects. While you'll mostly be responsible for your own meals, we'll often come together for lunch to share stories, music and laughter.

Work is typically scheduled in the mornings to beat the heat, leaving afternoons and weekends free for exploration and relaxation. Please ensure you come prepared with safety gear, including boots and gloves, as our farm terrain is rugged.

    Other Information

Join our international community, where shared experiences and cultural exchanges enrich our lives. From impromptu gatherings to local festivities, there's never a dull moment here, but mostly it is peace & serenity. As former educators and restaurateurs from the UK, we're eager to share our knowledge and skills with you. We're passionate about sustainable living and fostering a spirit of learning and collaboration. Whether you're a seasoned traveler or new to the WorkAway experience, you'll find a warm welcome here.

    Get in Contact

If our vision resonates with you, don't hesitate to reach out. Send us a message with your skills and aspirations, and let's discuss how you can become part of our journey. We're fluent in English, French, Portuguese, and a smattering of other languages, so communication won't be an issue.

And if you've read this far, thank you! We look forward to hearing from you and embarking on this adventure together.
Cheers to new beginnings and unforgettable experiences!
