    Description

We’re a couple, Bastien and Elena, both 26 years old, living with 7 goats, 4 ducks, 2 chickens, 2 dogs, and 2 cats in a beautiful hamlet surrounded by chestnut trees and bordered by two rivers, right in the heart of the Cévennes in France.

We care deeply about offering an alternative lifestyle, closer to nature and respectful of all living beings — one that is healthier for humans too (less screen time, less noise, less stress, more time for yourself, more mutual help, and more fruits and vegetables grown with love).

Our farm is a small family homestead, and we don’t sell any of our produce — everything we grow is for our own consumption. Volunteers would only be helping with daily life on the farm and sharing experiences with us, not working on any business activities.

I’m currently training for a professional cooking diploma and I love baking, so I’d be thrilled to share this passion with you. I also make some of my own cleaning products and transform as much as I can from what nature offers us (plums, chestnuts, blackberries, mirabelles, blueberries, wild strawberries...).

We literally live right above the river (Le Rieutort), so you’ll be able to relax and enjoy its calm whenever you want.

Nearby, there are also plenty of activities to explore — canyoning, hiking, climbing — plus our charming village with its bakery, restaurant, grocery shop, and a pottery workshop.

Bastien and I have also spent many years learning about mental health, personal growth, and spirituality. We’d be happy to share what we’ve learned, and even support you if you’re reflecting on your own life path (professional or personal). We’ve guided many people in this area and also run seminars on the subject.

In short: we love curious humans who ask questions about life — and we’ll be very happy to take care of you and share with you, in exchange for your help during your stay.

Looking forward to meeting you soon!

What daily life looks like here:

Taking care of the animals (goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, cats): feeding them, cuddling them, maintaining their shelters and living areas

Milking the goats and making cheese or natural cosmetics for our own consumption

Help in the garden (depending on the season: sowing, planting, mulching, clearing, harvesting)

Transforming what we grow into delicious creations: jams, cakes, tomato sauces, pickles...

    Occasional activities include:

Splitting and stacking wood for the winter

Clearing and maintaining the areas around the house

Building a new goat shelter (planned for autumn 2025)

Harvesting chestnuts, picking wild blackberries for our own consumption

I (Elena) am passionate about cooking and baking, and I’ll happily prepare your meals.

Breakfast and dinner will be set up for you to enjoy independently, and we’ll share lunch together around the table.
