Our farm blends our own cultural heritage of Portuguese and Filipino and we integrate our Canadian pride of diversity. Prince Edward County is Ontario's new travel destination offering art, beach, festivals, wine, craft beer and culinary delights.
Gardening - Succession planting using no-till, composting method, weeding and pest control by hand, daily watering, harvesting for storage.
Farming - includes daily chores of feeding our mixed livestock, collecting and sorting eggs from our hens and cleaning and maintenance of animal shelters
Building- helping with Eco project - expansion of gravity fed irrigation system, improvements to composting station, building wood fired cob oven, laying out site for future geodesic dome, installation of energy generating systems and construction of shipping container micro eco-cabins *️️️️️️ *️️️️️️general building projections as time-sensitive projects will take priority*️️️️️️*️️️️️️
Cooking/ help in the house - Homecooked meal provided by host everyday and Workawayers can assist in house duties whenever requested.
We expect 5 hours of help a day, 5 days a week. Schedules will be discussed nightly and helping with food/ house preparation is not included as work.

Either 2 x singles or 1 couple will be staying in our farmhouse and sleeping on the second floor family quarters. We adhere to no electronic devices in the sleeping quarters (2nd floor) as we believe in resting body and mind.
Hosts will provide vegetarian and meat friendly meals daily with 99% of product harvested from the farm. Workawayers can assist in preparation and cleaning whenever requested.
Our sub community of Black River has an emerging art community, as well as, local businesses serving other produce and meats, cheese and ice cream. Bikes are available to travel to Little Bluffs (locals beach) and wineries. Rides into town can be arranged with the hosts. We attend as many social events as possible and workawayers are welcome to join anytime.
