Description
I will be away from April the 4 to the 20 2025, so I would be very happy to find house sitters for that period. Food will be provided during that time. Help with animal care, gardening, and house sitting will be appreciated.

Hello dear Workaway(s)!
I am Fabien, 56 years old , I have a daughter Léa 17 years who lives with her Mum, so I enjoy here all her small holidays and share the half of the big one.We live in a beautiful place in the Dordogne between Perigueux and Bordeaux.
Our house is a spacious selfmade wooden house ,it is heated with a wood stove, adding to its cozy charm.
There's still a lot to be done around the house!
The village and the surroundings are really nice, with lots of forests around for walking or cycling. There is also a lovely river running through the village for summer swimming and canoeing. There’s also a self-service convenience store in the village, while the nearest supermarket is about 10 km away.

Help
Currently, a helping hand in the garden and greenhouse would be greatly appreciated. I am starting a new garden forest project on a plot near the house, which will involve planting more trees and yard cleaning.
You will be welcomed as a family member and your daily support (a couple of hours) would be much appreciated. The chores could include:
cooking , cleaning the house, cleaning the orchard, weeding parts of the garden (such as removing brambles), cleaning the poultry yard including the hen house.
Fabien have a collection of Citroen old timer cars and vans of different sorts (i.e. 2CV DS HY AMI6 Mehari etc...) and any mechanical skills to help for mechanic or bodywork would be welcome and also car washing.
A garden experience will be appreciated.

Our proposal is to share the house including daily meals obviously. We supply breakfast and two other meals every day, mostly organic and vegetarian food. We don't drink much alcohol, but sometimes we have some good wine or selfmade beer (by me!) with friends.
Please note that we are a non-smoking family and consequently a non-smoking house.
What else ...
Fabien plays the trumpet every Thursday evening in a regional Big Band.
The nearest train stations are Montpon-Ménésterol or Mussidan, and we can pick you up if needed.
The nearest airports are Bergerac and Bordeaux.
Bikes and a canoe will be provided if you're feeling adventurous.
It’s preferable to stay for several weeks, or even months if it suits you.
I'm looking for serious, respectful, and responsible individuals with experience in gardening. I make this clarification because I have had bad experiences with people who have simply damaged the property.
