  Description

  We are Pancho (Ecuadorian), Amandine (French) and our children, Ilan ( 7 years old) and Aina (4 years old). We have a small farm in the mountain where we are dedicated to permaculture. Before we start with our own project we have traveled through South America and other countries of the world knowing, sharing and learning. Now we are more than happy to receive volunteers in our farm. We also share our life with 3 cats, 1 mule and chickens.
  There is a lot to do as the project is quit new (home reconstruction, agriculture, eco-tourism project) with little money but many ideas, creativity, recycled objects, desire and hopefully with much help from volunteers.
  If you like simple and natural life, without to much luxury but cooking with fire at night, beautiful view to the mountains, having breakfeast watching toucans and humming-birds and sharing good moments, we are waiting for you !

  Somos Pancho (ecuatoriano) y Amandine (francesa) y nuestros hijos Ilan (7 años) y Aina (4 años). Tenemos una pequeña finca en la montaña donde nos dedicamos a la permacultura. Antes de empezar con nuestro propio proyecto hemos viajado por Sur América y otros países del mundo conociendo, compartiendo y aprendiendo. Ahora somos mas que felices de poder recibir voluntarios en nuestra finca. Compartimos nuestra vida con 3 gatos, 1 mula y gallinas.
  Hay mucho por hacer, nuestro proyecto tiene menos de 2 años (reconstrucción de casa, agricultura, proyecto de eco-turismo) con poco dinero pero muchas ideas, creatividad, objetos reciclados, ganas y esperemos con mucha ayuda de voluntarios.
  Si te gusta vivir una vida sencilla y en la naturaleza, sin mucho lujo, pero comidas en la fogata, linda vista a las montañas, desayunar mirando tucanes y colibríes y buenos momentos compartidos, te esperamos !!

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We live in the mountains, in a small village of about 15 families who live from agriculture and making panela (pure sugar cane). On Sundays, they go to the market in Piñas where they sell there products. It is a perfect place to disconnect from the city and connect with nature. You will be able to learn about a project from the beginning and enjoy with us the pleasure of doing everything with your own hands. We will teach you the principles of permaculture and how to lead a sustainable life.
  
  Vivimos en la montaña, en un pequeño sitio de mas o menos 15 familias que se dedican a la agricultura y especialmente a la fabricación de panela artesanal. Venden sus productos en el mercado de Piñas el Domingo. Es un lugar perfecto para desconectarse de la ciudad y conectarse con la naturaleza . Podrán aprender sobre un proyecto desde su inicio y disfrutar con nosotros del placer de hacer todo con sus propias manos. Les enseñaremos los principios de la permacultura y como llevar una vida sostenible.

  Help

  Our project is quit new so there is a lot to do!
  We need help in :
  - Construction, reconstruction and repairs of the house that was abandoned for a few years: change board, fix ceiling, paint, remodeling kitchen and bathroom, construction of house furniture in recycled materials, decoration, ...
  - Agriculture: garden design, terraces, pruning and clearing of trees, irrigation system, sowing, greenhouse building, rainwater collection tank, building the compost area and chicken house...
  - House: help in the kitchen, cleaning and preparation of preserves and products based on the harvest of the orchard, feeding the animals (chickens, mule, cats and dog)
  The majority of the works we are doing right now are physicals ( making holes to plant trees, building terraces, carying bags of organic material, cutting wood, building...)
  We are looking for people who want to learn, ready to work very hard and wake up early, we start the day at 6am to work when the day is cooler.

  Nuestro proyecto es nuevo asi que hay mucho por hacer !
  Necesitamos ayuda en :
  - Construcción, reconstrucción y arreglos de la casa que fue abandonada por unos años : cambiar tablado, arreglar techo, pintura, remodelacion cocina y baño, construcción de los muebles de la casa en materiales reciclados, decoración, ...
  - Agricultura : diseño de la huerta, terrazas, podar y limpiar arboles, sistema de riego, sembrar, construcción invernadero, tanque de recolección de agua de lluvia, construcción área de compost y gallineo...
  - Casa : ayuda en la cocina, limpieza, preparación de conservas y productos a base de la cosecha de la huerta, dar de comer a los animales (gallinas, gatos, mula, perro)
  La mayoría de los trabajos que estamos haciendo por ahora son trabajos físicos (huecos para sembrar arboles, construcción de las terrazas, cargar sacos de tierra y abono, cortar madera, construcción).
  Necesitamos personas con ganas de aprender, listas a trabajar muy duro y levantarse temprano, empezamos el día a las 6am para poder trabajar en las horas mas frescas del día.

  We have a space for tents and a basic bed room with 1 doble bed and 1 single bed.
  Shared bathroom and kitchen.
  With the help of the volunteers we hope to offer soon a more comfortable shared room with private bathroom!
  No food is provided
  Disponemos de un espacio para carpas y un cuarto aun en remodelacion con 1 cama doble y 1 cama para 1 persona.
  Con la ayuda de los voluntarios esperamos poder ofrecer pronto un cuarto compartido mas cómodo y baño privado !

  What else ...

  We are located in the middle of the mountains, in a beautiful place to observe flora and fauna. There are multitudes of wild orchids and beautiful flowers that attract hummingbirds, toucans and other colorful birds.
  A 10-minute walk will find a stream where you can cool off and relax.
  The nearest town, Piñas, is 30 minutes by car. You can get to to the farm with a taxi wich cost 8$ and then you will have to walk 10 minutes uphill.
  From the farm you can go to Piñas by making a nice 40 minute walk, and arriving at the road grab a bus or a taxi for about 5 minutes drive.
  We don't have Internet in the farm.
  There is no stores in the village, the nearest shops are in Piñas.
  We are at 2H from Machala and 1h from Huaquillas, border with Peru.
  
  
  Estamos ubicados en medio de las montañas, en un lugar hermoso para observar flora y fauna. Existen multitudes de orquídeas silvestres y lindas flores que atraen colibríes, tucanes y otras aves coloridas.
  A 10 minutos caminando encontraran un riachuelo donde podrán refrescarse y relajarse.
  La ciudad mas cercana, Piñas, se encuentra a 30 minutos en carro. Un taxi hasta la finca cuesta 8$. No hay carretera hasta la finca, para llegar hay que hacer una pequeña caminata de 10 minutos en un camino de subida.
  Desde la finca pueden ir a Piñas haciendo una linda caminata de 40 minutos, y llegando a la carretera agarrar un bus o una camioneta por unos 5 minutos.
  No hay Internet en la finca.
  En el sitio no hay tiendas, cualquiera cosa que necesiten se consigue en Piñas.
  Estamos a 2H de Machala y 1h de Huaquillas, frontera con Perú.
