Description
We are back on line for Workaway. We started in 2014. We took a break when we sold the property and moved across the street on the beach.
We have rescued many dogs and kept some that we couldn't find homes for them. You will be responsible for the care of the dogs so dog lovers only.(feeding,walking, bathing)
Also, you will need to cook for us or make meal drinks. We eat very lightly.
You will stay in your own house and we will provide $20 for food for each person. We prefer couples and do not accept children. Volunteers must be 25 or over. We are looking for people who are capable of helping on their own once they have been shown what to do.
There is a pool on the property that you can use.

They will be helping sometimes with our employee, fixing things and helping him in what ever way they can. It is a great opportunity to learn about the local culture and how people live.
Help
We are looking for a couple who love dogs.The help includes helping with the dogs, cooking small meals for us and helping with the home. We ask for 3 - 5 hours a day depending on what needs to be done. At times, you will help with small projects with our garden/maintenance man. We provide $40 worth of food per week per couple for 3-5 hours help a day for 5 days a week. On days off you can go away to visit other interesting places close by us, Isla de Plata, Los Frailes beach and and during the season go whale watching. You will live in your own separate house with an equipped kitchen.

Accommodation
The Workawayer house hot water, bath, equipped kitchen, queen size bed in bedroom and living room. There is also a covered outdoor seating area to relax on your time off and have a beer.
What else ...
Around the town there is great opportunity for exploring the beaches and local flora and fauna. Surfing is known to be very good in the area and is still largely unknown to most tourists. If you are looking for a great whale watching experience, then Puerto Cayo is a must stop for you. Puerto Cayo is known to have some of the best whale watching opportunities on the coast. The migration of the humpback whale takes place from June to September.
Puerto Cayo is also the gateway to Parque Nacional Machalilla. This large protected park created in 1979 also incorporates Isla de la Plata.

Armando and Lauren were great. They were always willing to help. They were here for the holidays and received guests onto the property and helped them whenever needed. The guests commented to me how good they were. Once given directions they worked great on their own. Our rescue dogs adopted them immediately with dog kisses.

I definitely reccommend Noemi and Alberto. They were great to have on the property. Once shown the work they can work independently and they also show initiative. We had a great time together and they really took care of the dogs. They are very responsible.

Barbara and Jordan were volunteering with us for about a month total. They were a great addition to our small team here. They were fantastic with the dogs, so good in fact, the dogs missed them! Great Place to stay. We loved the dogs and worked with them on their behavour. They are great dogs and make a lot of fun. We also helped out in the garden on the pool and in the house.
