    Description

We are an NGO that started 4 years ago and had welcomed many volunteers of different backgrounds and from different nations. We are based in Sale in a small town called ‘Karia’. Now what’s special about us is that the cultural and language exchange project we gave birth to has been successful in terms of shaping the thinking of the forgotten and marginalized youth of Karia. In addition, a great number of beneficiaries from our NGO have gradually improved their English and become near brave to express their ideas and views. The interaction they have with foreign volunteers contributed a lot to their well-being. Now not only they took the advantage of learning regardless of their educational level and personal status, but they become so encouraged to inspire others to learn. And only some time it took until we have gathered many beneficiaries in our NGO and surely we started to better the lives of many in Karia. Our hopes are high that only with more Workawayers we are gonna help to extend exerting a change in Karia, and better the lives of many more.

Volunteers will get to live a first-hand Moroccan life experience around 'souk' in the lively vibes of a small Moroccan town. Tours to souk during the day or evening are the best here. All the previous volunteers who have been here had these small memories like watching the crowded streets by night off a high roof (It's all safe, we promise XD) and having a late night chitchat in this cozy weather by the night. In addition to this of course, another important element to the Moroccan culture is its cuisine, so surely volunteers are gonna love both the experience of traditional cooking in a typical Moroccan home setting and the taste of every traditional meal. Living with a host family is the best way to discover all of the above mentioned and when learning about the culture and the language spoken here, surely the host family and the NGO members will be the best people to approach. Third, our favorite to the volunteers who come is arranging cooking sessions at the NGO where the fun, the tasty food, and the cross cultural profiles meet. Last but not least is being as an ambassador of your country at our NGO will enable you to represent your culture at its finest.

Our NGO classes are schedule-flexible and informal, meaning we usually talk about current day issues, topics, and anything that interest our curiosity to learn and enrich our knowledge that has to contribute to the cultural exchange goal we aim to achieve.
We are welcoming open-minded people who are willing to share with us their life experiences and knowledge that helps builds up the acquired knowledge to the NGO beneficiaries. Also, we'd love to know about different ways of teaching be it including games or learning activities etc..)

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

A host family like mine and the NGO members' will be taking care of the newcomers, Wokawayers, where they will stay in a comfortable environment meaning in a decent enough house with nice and friendly people. Concerning food, here in Morocco, we have four meals a day, not just three (Breakfast, lunch, branch of tea (snacking), dinner). What will be provided in exchange for your service dear Workawayer is a place where to stay (a nice enough place in the house with a family meaning nice enough bed to sleep on as shown in the photos below) and meals shared with the family whom you are living with.
