My husband and I are happy to share things we know with you, especially Malaysian culture (and Malaysian Chinese Culture!) We love to know more about you and your interest and are willing to go the extra miles to let you have better exposure and experience in the aspects that you’re interested in.
For example, if you’re interested in Malaysia food, we will try to bring you to the best place to try it instead of just sharing the information with you; if you’re interested in the working culture in Malaysia and hope to have an in-depth understanding, we will try to look for our friends who’s working in the field that you’re interested in and let them share it with you!
My husband has a wide range of knowledge and I’m an ENFJ who loves to research and is talented in strategic thinking, so if you enjoy chatting or discussing about things, we’re happy to chat ☺️
I’m a Psychology graduate and have attended the training of Satir Family Transformation Therapy, so if you’re interested in this area, I can always share related information or perspectives to you ☺️
P/S: we’re an unschooling family, so we’re kinda weird and unconventional in many things that we do. Haha 😛 think twice before you request 😏😆 but if you’re interested in some conspiracy theories and things like that, we could probably be good friends 🤣Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.

Hello there, we’re Vincent and Jia Chyi. First of all, I just wanna say that we are workawayers ourselves, so we know what is it like 😉
Jia Chyi is a stay at home mom who’s looking for someone to bake/cook/do needle work, woodwork or any other hobbies together.
We are currently trying to bake with freshly ground whole wheat flour so if you have that experience we hope to invite you here ❤️ Any baking experience with whole wheat flour will be nice too! We will learn humbly from you 😌
If you don’t bake but cook, you’re welcomed too! We love to learn cooking dishes from all over the world. Homemakers and Unschoolers are always welcome! I have so much more that I wish to learn from you ☺️ I’m also keen to learn any other skills if you know any :D
We’re planning to diy some furniture using wood planks as well. If you’re familiar with or interested in woodworking you’re always welcome!
There’s some house rules that we wish our guests to respect during your stay:
1. No smoking or vaping in the house.
2. We practice modesty dressing in our house (pants/skirts covers knees and shirts covers shoulder; avoid clothing that reveals your body shape too).
3. Quiet time after 10pm (so our girl can get ready to sleep😆).Languages spoken
English: Fluent
Chinese (Mandarin): Fluent
Malay: Intermediate
Chinese (Cantonese): IntermediateAccommodation
We have a guest room with a queen size natural latex bed which is pretty comfortable. We have two more single mattresses if you prefer them😌
Since we’re cooking at home everyday and we choose to eat healthier, the cost tend to be higher, so we can’t afford to provide free meals at the moment unfortunately.
* We eat kosher (meaning mainly no pork and any seafood without fins and scales (eg., shrimp, crab, shark etc). What else ...
We’re staying in a ‘new Chinese village’ where you can still have a taste of old school Chinese housing and community. Our place is nearby Senai airport, Kulai bus station, and Kulai train station. We are always willing to pick you up/drop you there if we’re free!
Our place is close to some beautiful parks. There’s a mountain (Gunung Pulai) not too far away that you can go hiking at. At the bottom of that mountain there’s a beautiful river where people (especially kids) will gather to play and relax. Beside the river there’s place to picnic as well.
Both of us love to play badminton. If you’re interested in it, we can play together! 😄
If you’ve read all way till here, well done! Basically we’re just looking for kind people to be friends with. You’re here to live life together with us. We try to make it feel like home for you guys to the best of our ability. If you’d like to know how a local live, and is happy to help out with household chores (cleaning and washing the dishes especially coz we don’t like to do it 🤣) and share with us what life is like at your end, welcome!A little more information

We stayed at their house for two weeks. They accepted us as if we were a real family. That was a wonderful thing. They were always kind to us. So we were able to spend our time as relaxed as if we were in our own home.
I was more than happy to be able to discuss parenting with them. It was a good… read more
