Our theatre company, is a most unique theatre venue -- a 30 meter tall ship. We have been touring contemporary professional theatre for over 40 years. Its innovative theatrical productions on to the deck and in the rigging of a Ship Theatre that has been touring internationally: Canada, USA, Europe and the Mediterranean. NOT a cruise ship.
November 2018 to October 2019 the company will be working on ship maintenance and working on future shows and tours for the 2020 Production, that will take place in Pacific NW. During this time we are looking for people who can help with the either Ship Maintenance of the vessel or Administration & Fundraising.
This is a great learning experience and a chance to work with theatre professionals and skilled boat building technicians.

They will be a part of a unique experience that involves people working and living together in a beautiful west coast environment. Travelers will learn skills: in administration, lots to learn in alternative fundraising and product solicitation; in boat maintenance, working with professional boat builders who are proficient in ship carpentry, welding, painting, plumbing, electricity, engine work.
The shows we produce are original and thought provoking with a political or social message.
In January & February 2019 a boat shed will be built to cover the ship out of the water and on blocks. From March to May 2019 the work will prepare the hull for painting, painting the hull, wood work on the decks, interior work: plumbing, electrical and engine work. From May to October 2019, the vessel will return to the water and work on the ship will continue including more woodwork, repairing the portholes and stanchions,, installing solar panels. This work will be supervised by 2 professional shipwrights.
The Producer and Artistic Director will be working on several Theatre Administration projects:
fundraising, grant writing, bookkeeping, website maintenance, community outreach through social media, organizing a workshop in November 2019 for the next show.
A bunk in a single or shared cabin on the ship. The ship is at a marina that has warm showers and laundry facilities. Bikes are available. Meals provided on the ship. Bus routes to Richmond and Vancouver are close to the marina.
Our location is at Shelter island Marina and Boat Yard. From there, the city of Richmond is 20 minutes away by bus, Vancouver is a 50 minute bus & train ride away; to Vancouver Island a 3 - 4 hour bus, train and ferry ride away.
