    Description

Welcome to our evolving homebase : a soft landing, a quiet turning, a place between chapters.

We’re a small family in the English countryside, just outside London ( far enough for starry skies and deep breaths, close enough for city sparks when needed.) Life here has a seasonal rhythm: sometimes quiet and contemplative, other times full of movement, with quirky cats underfoot and dreams on the table.

Our horse obsessed 12-year-old has just returned from a year abroad and is now embarking on a year of Hack Schooling… echoing a charity project that’s nourished many hands and hearts over the past seven years. That project offered fresh food to the food bank, permaculture-inspired healing spaces for young adults, and the gentle dignity of purpose. We had over 200 residential volunteers.

We’re now entering a pause—a quieter, thoughtful R&D phase as we imagine what’s next. This Workaway opportunity emerges from that space. It’s less about ticking boxes and more about shared presence, honest contribution, and co-creating what this season wants to be.

    About You:

You’re an English-speaking female (due to current family dynamics and privacy needs … happy to discuss more privately). You’re warm, grounded, and independent. Comfortable with both shared time and solo stretches. You bring a gentle sense of responsibility, light humour, and a willingness to learn and adapt.

We’ve previously focused on supporting individuals navigating mental health challenges but need a break from holding space for that this year. At this time, we are opening the space to those with invisible disabilities, particularly physical ones, and are committed to continuing to grow our understanding of access and dignity in shared spaces.

You don’t need to be perfect. Just kind. Curious. Honest.

    Who We’re Looking For
The heart of this placement is sometimes spending time with our 12-year-old daughter, so we’re looking for a female Workawayer at this time with a naturally warm, engaged presence. Someone who’s motivated to do—whether that’s going on a walk, diving into a creative project, or helping initiate an activity—instead of defaulting to screen time.

You’re the kind of person who has an optimistic outlook, and genuinely enjoys learning new things. Ideally, you’re independent and emotionally mature, with a good sense of when to take initiative and when to relax into the rhythm of a space.

    What Life Looks Like Here
The atmosphere here shifts depending on who’s present, the time of year, and our current focus. Sometimes we’re all together. Other times we’re away traveling.

You’ll need to be comfortable with a blend of shared time and solo time—ideally, you’re a self-starter and finds fulfillment both in shared moments and independent pursuits.

If you feel a little spark reading this, reach out.
We’re open to shaping this opportunity around who you are and what’s meaningful right now.
