Description
Hey there, we are a couple living on a small farm with horses, we have an extra apartment, we are looking for a young girl/boy with experience working with horses, we need a person who have worked daily with horses and know how it is to ride them up and getting them ready for competition, we also go to competition. In daytime i drive schoolbus and my wife has her own shop on the farm selling horse equipment. We are in the middle 50´s and love the social life :-) we would very much like video of your riding if possible.

It's hard to summarize two amazing months in only a few lines. My stay at Micheal and Tina 's house was my first workaway and I will remember it for the rest of my life.

I got to know all the animals very quickly. They have two adorable cats who want cuddles all the time. I really miss having them on my knees. They also have a wonderful dog… read more called Kelso. He loves to play with wood sticks and go walking. I spent so much good time in the forest with him. And of course he also loves cuddles and treats !

And then there are all the horses. They are all adorable. I spent a lot of time doing ground work with the little pony Napoléon and he loved that! He loves being with humans and getting all the attention! I don't think winter is the best time to ride down there because the arena was often frozen, but I still found many opportunities to ride. Most of the time I rode with Ina. Ina is the owner of two of the horses and she is an amazing person : always happy, always in a good mood! I had a lot of really nice conversations with her.

Micheal and Tina are such nice people. They always make sure you have everything you need. They took me to the cinema, to the restaurant and to the zoo, where Micheal lent me a camera so I could take animal pictures. We spend a lot of time together watching handball games, watchings movies, solving puzzles or eating the delicious pizzas that Micheal makes! I really miss them. I also celebrated my birthday with them and that was really nice.

And if you come, you will meet Maria who is one of the kindest people I have ever met! We talked a lot together, exploring diverse subjects. She gave me riding advice and took me for a really fun and fast ride in the woods with her mares.

The only work you will have to do is giving food and water to the horses every morning. So you will have a lot of free time to ride or to do whatever you want.

If you can come at the beginning of march you will help them with the "hest og rytter" fair. This was a really exhausting but amazing experience! During 3 days you will prepare the stand and then, during 4 days, you will sell boots and other horse riding equipment. You will also have time to look around and see some jumping or dressage competitions. This week was so much fun!

Thank you Micheal, Tina, Maria and Ina for everything. I hope to come back during the summer to see the forest, the beach and eat ice cream! If you come to France you're more than welcome to pay me a visit

Staying with Michael and Tina for three weeks was an amazing experience. My trip from the Netherlands did not go without trouble and I ended up arriving 45 minutes from there house at midnight, but they still picked me up. The first few days there was another Workawayer, she was vey nice and we had a really good time. She explained how everything… read more worked, taught me the names of the horses and took me on walks with the dog so I knew where to go when she left. Even though I only stayed three weeks Micheal, Tina, Maria and even Lesse when I only met him a few times, felt like my second family.

You are very free in what you do, the only thing that really needs to be done is feeding the horses and fill up their water. When it froze we needed to do some more work to make sure they always had acces to water, but still the 'work' part was done at 11:00, when waking up at 8. And that includes walking with Kelzo, the amazing border collie dog wich you can't really call work because it's so much fun.

Micheal likes photography and lent me his camera when we went to the zoo and when I took pictures of the other Workaway girl with the horses before she left, he also taught me how photoshop works and it was really fun. We also fixed fences together wich was my first time so I learned a lot! He's also really good at cooking (and making pizza's, he has his own dough mixer and pizza oven xD) even though I am vegetarian I've had the most wonderful meals.

Tina is an amazing baker and so is her daughter so we had the most delicious cookies and other sweets. Tina encouraged me to make nice bracelets with the huge box of pearls she had, I had a great time.

I spent Christmas at their place, sadly the snow that lay there just melted so no white Christmas, but their family was really nice. I learned a lot about the danish culture then. I met a lot of people who came to the house and I think it's just something Danish, but everyone was so nice!

The horses are really cute and I miss them so much. I didn't ride as much as I would have loved to because of the frozen riding arena and the slippery roads outside, but just being around them made me really happy. And the rides I did make were really nice. Three of their horses are with foal and Micheal showed me the stallions so I am really exited to see pictures of the foals in the spring!

Tina and Michael thank you so much for these amazing weeks, it was real hygge, I will see you again!

WONDERFUL experience.
I spent almost 5 months with Michael and Tina in Tarup. It was my second workaway and also my best.
I met wonderful people, I felt like a real part of the family, they trusted me and I felt free to do what I want.
The most of the job is to deal with the horses, mean feed them, fix the fences, make sure they are all okay and… read more ride them. It's a good thing if you are a good rider because you shall ride young horses, very kind horses but, still young horses.
Every morning you have to feed the horses, make sure they still have hay and water, then you have to ride one or two horses, maybe more. You can also get some rest, go to the forest for a walk, help Tina in the shop.
The horses are all outside, if you use a box you have to clean it and put some new straw. In the stables, you will meet Ina, she is very nice. Ina is always happy and optimist, it was so nice to go to the forest with her and the horses. I really miss her.
If you are an experiment rider, you will have many opportunity to ride, to train horses from owner, to go to competitions, to go to the forest and maybe have horseback lessons.
I think Michael and Tina's place is a paradise if you are a horse lover.
They also have three cats very friendly and a dog.
You are always welcomed to go with Tina and Michael for a trip in Denmark, to visit and meet new people. You can also borrow a car to go somewhere (the beach is 15mins driving).
I met the family of Tina and Michael, they were all very nice with me and make sure I'm good. I spent Christmas with them and it was a wonderful Christmas, we ate a lot of good food. :)

In the farm, you have your own appartment in the house, with your own bathroom, concerning the meals, you will eat with Tina and Michael, the food is provided and them make sure you're not hungry, the food is delicious. It's not a problem is you are vegetarian.

Michael and Tina are very social so many people are coming to the farm to share a diner and talk. I spent a lot of time with Tina's daughter Maria, she is also a rider and she has two horses.

I have so many thing to say about my trip, it was such a wonderful experience, I learnt a lot about horses and I have increased my english, also learnt some danish.

I want to thank you Michael, Tina and Maria for everything, I really needed a quiet place to think and have a good time with horses. Thank you for trusting me with horses and making me feel comfortable. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to travel with you and to go to Copenhagen. Thank you for have welcoming my boyfriend for a week.
I will never forget my trip in Denmark and I will never forget you. You are such a nice people and you have a wonderful family, I wish I will see you in the future. You are welcome to visit me in France, you have a room in my mother's house.
I really miss you, your family and Sunshine and Dina. I already miss your pizza and your bread Michael. I wish you the best and I hope I will see Sunshine's foal. :)
