Description
Rural properties with tough access or steep terrain in the Azores were abandoned as subsistence farming declined and maintaining these lands became too challenging. Because of this, invasive species like longose and reeds have taken over the Azorean landscape, especially in some of its most beautiful places such as beaches and lovely creeks.
Me and my dad (locals) have been working on such a property since 2018, which is located next to fresh springs, a beautiful waterfall, ancient watermills, a secluded beach, and plenty of hiking trails and creeks to explore.
Join us, and our dog Thor, in our quest to restore the nature and cultural history of this unique place and to establish a homestead !Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
As a local, I can introduce you to Azorean customs and traditions. There will be town or family events you can join to get a firsthand experience of our cuisine and culture. Plus, our property is near a popular hiking trail, so you'll have plenty of chances to meet other travelers from all over!
I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, and a bit of French. I've lived in the Azores for most of my life, but I've also spent time abroad for studies and work in the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, and the US.Help

Workawayers will be provided food for all 3 meals each day, but the role of cooking the food will rotate between the hosts and the workawayers to promote cultural exchange.A little more information
