Hello! My name is Sayaka, and I’m 37 years old. I’m a cheerful, energetic person who loves new experiences and helping others.

I studied product design in high school and went on to earn teaching licenses in elementary education, middle school technology, and high school industrial arts at a university of education in Japan. After graduating, I taught interior design at a technical high school, where I helped students create furniture such as desks and chairs.

Later, I worked at a special needs school for about a year, followed by two years teaching both elementary and middle school at a Japanese international school in Indonesia. I then spent around three years teaching Japanese to Indonesian technical interns before returning to Japan. Back home, I taught fashion engineering at a technical high school, where I helped students design and create clothing and accessories, including dresses and knit items.

I’m passionate about farming and often participated in volunteer agricultural work. My hobbies include jogging, yoga, and making small crafts.

I love traveling and learning from other cultures. That’s why I left my job in March and have been volunteering at a Japanese guesthouse in India since April, helping with cleaning, cooking, laundry, and dishwashing. I plan to visit New York in mid-September and am looking forward to gaining more experience abroad through Workaway!
