    Description

We are a natural organic farm focused on caring for our 27 native breed cows. We are currently in the process of official certification, holding a probationary organic status from the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Our 10.5-acre property is home to over 1000 saplings, featuring a diverse mix of fruit, timber, and medicinal trees.

We welcome both solo travelers and couples who are interested in cultural exchange and hands-on learning. If you would like to experience natural farming practices firsthand, we invite you to stay with us. We gladly provide accommodation and food for volunteers.

Workawayers can learn the principles of natural farming and experience a sustainable, rural lifestyle firsthand. You will gain insight into the local culture, religious traditions, and our daily way of life.

For those interested in languages, we are happy to teach you some Tamil, Marathi, or Hindi.

    Help

There are lots of things to do around the farm. Workawayers are welcome to help with the usual farm tasks and even propose interesting technical and creative projects and initiatives.

Volunteers engage in general work around the farm according to the season. Daily activities include weeding, preparing vegetable beds, watering plants, and harvesting.

Workawayers can also assist in the preparation of organic natural pesticides, fertilisers, and vermicompost, all made using cow dung from our organically fed desi cows.

Additional activities include cleaning the cow shed, bathing the cows, and supervising the cows while they are grazing.

Work is assigned according to seasonal needs and the experience, ability, and comfort level of the Workawayers. Work schedules vary according to the seasons. During the summer months, volunteers may help in the early morning and in the evening, while in winter they could help any time of the day.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Workawayers will stay inside the farmhouse (a traditional thatched-roof house). Volunteers will have their own beds in a shared room. The bathing area and toilet are shared and non-attached (separate from the bedroom). If more than two volunteers are staying at a time, the additional volunteers will stay in our simple rustic guesthouse.

We serve three vegetarian meals daily, cooked in the local Tamil style with seasonal ingredients. Dishes include rice with sambar and vegetables, upma, pongal, dosa, and idli. The spice level can be adjusted according to your needs. We also provide fruits, tea, coffee, and fresh coconut water.
