Description
Hi I’m Susie, at the moment headed out into the world to learn and share life and work together with like minded people on regenerative projects, farms, permaculture projects, market gardens and intentional communities.
I had the chance to meet the most inspiring people over the last two years and feel so very lucky. I have experience with working with animals (cows, sheep, goats, poultry, horses, pigs, dogs, cats, kangaroos, possums :D )
I worked in plant nurseries, can drive a ride-on-mower, did whippersnipping, did some pruning, harvesting, propagating, painting, drilling, weeding, wood splitting, helped with a rammed earth building and planted trees for landcare.
I’m an openminded person and interested in how other people think, live, work, make decisions and create 🥹
Originally, I'm an occupational therapist and worked with people with neurological and psychological diagnoses all through my 20s, which I enjoyed doing, however I feel, that it is not everything I want to do in my life. I am enthusiastic about soil, a localised future, community, animal welfare and Trees!
I’m excited about the next year , I will be in New Zealand for now. 🌳 🐑
I am looking forward to meeting you and working with you, learning new skills and gain experiences ! 🤗

I like activism, always loved working in my little garden back at home, cooking with friends, playing cards… at the moment i like doing embroidery, carving my spoon, I’m an enthusiastic Yogi and going out into nature with my camera. 📸

Oh.. where do i start… it is now four weeks since i left but one part of my heart somehow seems to have stayed there.
Being at Nina’s Ark was certainly one of the most memorable times of my life with Nina being one of the best people i have ever met.
My days consisted of feeding the little Joeys, (😍) some of whom where only a few months old,… read more cleaning their houses, preparing food for the possums, gliders and birds, raking leaves, preparing the guest rooms and facilities…

There were four primary school groups coming for tours while I was there, so I could assist Nina in that. It was amazing to see so many little interested minds leaving, filled with knowledge and care about Wildlife.
There were a couple of guests staying in the glamping tents and after their night tour we sat by the fire together.
It’s a very secluded place, huge areas of thousands and thousands of hectares around , where the animals are being released on. So be prepared to see nothing but nature in your time being there, and you’ll see some pretty unique things going on like Tawny Frogmouths pretending to be trees, a Bowerbirds nest and Kangaroos fighting (or looking for a little love), green tree frogs in the shower, one of the other spider, . :) i loved just sitting there observing everything.

Sometimes we took a walk down by the river looking for animals and one night we saw the most amazing shooting star all across the sky standing on the floodplain.
Mal calling the Roos in the morning and hearing them come hopping from all directions as the sun was peaking through the bush was a homecoming feeling.
A place is always about the people who created it and Nina is probably one of the most extraordinary and inspiring people I’ve ever met.
She has hundreds of stories to tell of a life lived from the heart. She is so connected to this earth. So beautiful.
I loved being there. and I left with just so much gratefulness in my heart and my senses more open, feeling grounded to this earth and it’s nature feeling home , so different from what I know. I see animals everywhere I go, observing eyes and truly in awe for this country. I miss all the animals i met and their unique ways. What a truely special time.

I wish you, Nina and Malcolm, all the best for the future, for the upcoming wet season, safety and security and the next season kicking off with many many many guests and campers come finding and visiting your wonderful place , it is so ready to be seen!

Just overall a beautiful experience. The family of Kobus, Gerda and Gideon greeted me so warmly in their home that I immediately felt part and welcome.
