Description
We are delighted to welcome guests to our beautiful 17-acre rural family property, located just over an hour from Sydney CBD, for a cultural exchange experience. Our home is set in a peaceful bushland setting where we enjoy sharing daily life, culture, and conversation with people from around the world.
We provide free, separate accommodation on the property along with groceries so you can cook your own meals, or you are welcome to share meals with the family. You will also have access to a car on the property that you can use on your free days. In return, we ask for a helping hand with some general tasks around the home and property.
Our property is home to a variety of animals including horses, ponies, two German Shepherds, a cat, chickens, and ducks — it often feels like a lively little animal haven. Our family household includes myself, my daughter, my son-in-law, and their young child, with a new baby arriving soon. We are a relaxed and welcoming family who enjoy meeting people from different cultures. Sometimes we spend some evenings by the fire, watching the beautiful sunsets and enjoying the quiet surroundings of the bushland.
While the property feels peaceful and secluded, we are only about 49 kilometres from Sydney CBD, offering a great balance between rural living and easy access to the city. Sydney is a vibrant and world-famous city known for its harbour, beaches, and cultural diversity. You are welcome to travel to the city with Tom when he travels to the city for work during your free days to explore Sydney.
We are looking for someone who enjoys animals, is comfortable in a family environment, and is happy to help with some household and outdoor tasks as part of a cultural exchange experience.
Please note that we are not a business and we require someone to help out with the house and garden.
If this sounds like an opportunity that would suit you, we would love to hear from you. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Travellers will have the opportunity to experience life in a rural setting, and horse lovers can learn hands-on skills in caring for horses in a rural setting. It is also a great chance for visitors to improve their English, learn about Australian culture, and enjoy life on a beautiful country property while being close to Sydney.

Help
Help may be needed with some general tasks around the property such as feeding the horses, basic yard and garden upkeep, occasional fence repairs, trimming hedges, and helping keep the outdoor areas tidy by picking up leaves or fallen branches. From time to time there may also be small household tasks. As my daughter has a young child, an occasional helping hand is always appreciated.

Transport can be organised when host travels to Sydney for work purposes.
We enjoy welcoming visitors who are friendly, reliable and happy to be part of a relaxed family environment. Internet access is available for personal use as well . As our home is a non-smoking household, we kindly ask that guests do not smoke. -
