Description
Hi there! 😊
We are Josi and Luis, 23 and 24 years old, from Germany.
We’ve just finished our bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning in Erfurt and are now excited to start a new adventure before beginning our master’s program in October.
Before and during our studies, traveling and working our way around the world has always been an important part of our lives. Josi spent an amazing time in Sweden doing Workaway, enjoying a wide variety of tasks, learning new skills, and most importantly meeting inspiring and welcoming people. She also fulfilled her long-time dream of traveling through Southeast-Asia. Meanwhile, Luis was exploring Mexico and Guatemala, discovering new cultures, landscapes, and ways of life.
We both love traveling and seeing as much as possible of a new country, but over time we realized that what really makes a trip special for us is having a purpose. That’s why we love Workaway so much, it allows us to contribute, learn, and truly connect with people and places.
Over the years, we’ve met so many open-minded and inspiring people while volunteering in different countries, and we would be very grateful for the opportunity to learn, live, exchange knowledge, and work together on new projects in beautiful places with even more wonderful people.
Have a great day, and hopefully we’ll meet soon to share a good time together! 😊

More details about your skills
We’ve worked for several months at mountain accommodations with restaurants in Austria, gaining experience in hospitality, daily operations, and teamwork in a remote environment. In addition, we both have experience working with children, ranging from babysitting to supervising kids at holiday camps.
We’ve also worked in office environments, handling various administrative tasks. Through Workaway, we gained a lot experience living and working on farms, both together and individually, which taught us a lot about responsibility, flexibility, and sustainable ways of living.
Renovation work has also been a big part of our journey. We’ve helped renovate different places, including a Swedish summer house, and have painted countless walls along the way 🙂 We enjoy hands-on work and especially love working outdoors, getting our hands dirty is no problem for us at all.
We’re fast learners, highly motivated, and always excited to gain new skills and experiences!

What else ...
We are very active people who love spending time outdoors. Even though we live in a city, we try to escape the urban lifestyle as often as possible, as we really enjoy being in nature, whether it’s during long walks, hikes, or cycling trips.
At the same time, we also appreciate quieter moments: reading, listening to good music, or playing games. When it comes to Romme or Shithead, we’re basically unbeatable. 😉
We’re really looking forward to meeting new people and sharing great experiences together! 😊

Josi and Carlotta worked so hard for us. They helped with constructing the green house, carrying heavy planks of wool around, tidying and cleaning and generally being a pleasure to have around. Strong and sweet young woman.
I’d love to host them again sometime
