Description
Latest November 2024: Started from Athens Greece, and working my way west slowly! I'm now in Portugal and Spain for the next few months, until I cross over to Morocco and continue through Africa. I'll spend the next few months preparing for my cross to Africa. I'm traveling with my Yamaha XMAX 300.

I started WorkAway after getting bored of traveling solely as a tourist, I met some people volunteering at my accommodation who suggested it to me, and ever since it has been my favorite way to travel! I have been a part of many projects and there is no task beneath me or I am unwilling to try and learn!
I also contribute my time as a WorkAway Ambassador, so I would love to hear your feedback on the platform and make some cool content together!
I grew up in the US, but now I'm based in Cyprus, though I can't call it home since I mostly live on the road traveling! My goal with WorkAway is to experience many different cultures and gain experience in other areas.
I’ve come to learn, there is more than one way to live and be successful in our lives. Shortly after I began traveling the novelty of traveling for the sake of it wore off and I wanted to experience something more productive. I began to volunteer in a variety of fields while I was in Southeast Asia, it gave me a deeper connection to the places I was visiting rather than being a tourist passing by.
Now I can't imagine any other style of travel!

Most recently I have volunteered in many hostels & homestays. Anywhere from reception work to managing the hostel, socializing with guests, planning events & activities, and creating atmosphere.
Here are some of my favorite experiences so far:
Thailand: I worked closely with many hostels in Thailand planning events, pub crawls, and tours with the guests. It was such a blast learning the local culture and living the Thai lifestyle.
Cambodia: On an island Eco-Resort I worked in the restaurant and beach bar, as well as assisting in the daily operations. The laid-back island lifestyle wasn't hard to get into at all!
Vietnam: I spent a few weeks in a small village teaching English to young children, I found it to be incredibly rewarding.
Montenegro: I worked with a family-run hostel, entertaining the guests and planning events. Daily boat trips around the Adriatic coast! They were voted the best hostel in the country for 2018!
Myanmar: By far one of my most amazing experiences, I led motorbike/e-bike tours for sunrises and sunsets, as well as organized sunset boat trips. Leading large groups of 20-30 people we had a blast and ended the month with wonderful reviews from the guests.
I'm traveling with my drone, so I hope we can make some interesting photos or videos of your project!
I've gained so many wonderful experiences and learned new skills while volunteering, but I am eager to continue learning more!

I know many people use WorkAway to save money or extend their travels, which I greatly appreciate the opportunity. My main goal, however, is experiences and friendships! I like to make a local connection and leave my mark everywhere I visit.
So if we work together, I hope we can make real friendships and learn from each other, more than just a job!
I am very eager to gain some new experiences and learn about local cultures.

I stayed with Diksha and the family for a month helping them get their hostel open, immediately from the first day they made me feel welcome! They are close to the beach and you can easily get around by scooter in the area. The food is really tasty and the family will show you the local lifestyle and culture and everything you need to do in Goa.
