    Dear hosts and Workawayers,

With great anticipation and excitement, I look forward to all experience that will cross my journey.
My name is Michele, a 32-year-old traveler from Germany. I chose Workaway because I love meeting new people and expanding my skills in various areas. Openness and curiosity towards different cultures and ways of life are fundamental to my philosophy. Workaway, for me, represents a valuable opportunity to experience authentic adventures and engage in genuine cultural exchange.

The dream of packing my backpack, booking a one-way ticket, and embarking on an indefinite journey has been with me since my early twenties.
However, due to professional obligations, it was not feasible until now. During these years, I have gained diverse and valuable practical work experience and taken on responsible positions.
I spent the most significant part of my career in the creative field of the fashion industry, followed by interior design. These roles always involved serving and interacting with customers.
However, this period also taught me that engaging in meaningful and valuable activities for others has become increasingly important to me. The connection with people, animals, and nature is of immeasurable value.

I find inspiration in a wide range of interests and love to perceive the world through visuals and stories. From photography, design, and fashion, to psychology, yoga, active sports, dance, and art & culture. I also like to explore and cook different cuisines and indulge in handicrafts.
Furthermore, I am drawn to nature, whether it's hiking or marveling at the beauty of our planet. Recently, I embarked on the Camino de Santiago, where I encountered wonderful souls from all over the world. These inspiring encounters and travels have strengthened my resolve to explore the world and have shown me the priceless value of being part of a community and achieving and creating together.

I will begin my journey in South America. During my travels, a complete stranger once said to me, "Promise me one thing, no matter what happens, never lose your smile." And it is this culture and way of life that I hope to find in South America. Embracing life's abundance while retaining a sense of lightness is my goal.

Workaway presents an incredible opportunity for me to contribute and develop my creative yet practical skills, while also finding kindred spirits. It fills me with joy to make my small travel dream a reality. Currently, I plan to be on the road for approximately one year without a fixed route. I want to be present in the moment and follow the flow. I can't wait to meet you all in person and embark on exciting projects together!

Let's create an unforgettable time filled with laughter, joy, and enriching experiences.

    Warm regards,

    Michele

Let me tell you a little bit about my professional journey.
So, here's the story: So far i have experience in 5 volunteer projects in colombia. From farm work, construction, organisation to creating content in form of photos and videos, reception and bartending.
Now about my career, that started with a education in retail, where I honed my customer service and communication skills. However, my creative self craved more, so I eagerly dove into the world of fashion. Specifically, I had the opportunity to contribute to the growth of a fashion brand by co-designing stores, training employees, and leading workshops. It was a fantastic experience, but deep down, I knew that I was missing the social aspect.

That was the moment when I decided to pursue a parallel path and train as a dance educator. This wonderful opportunity allowed me to combine my love for dance, pedagogy, and interacting with people. On the side, I volunteered for a refugee project in Germany and spent some time taking care of energetic little ones in a kindergarten. After my time in the fashion industry, I took the leap into the world of interior design. There, I took on the role of store management, but I also had the chance to unleash my creativity by designing spaces for clients and providing input on furniture design. I even got involved in hands-on tasks like furniture assembly, painting, and floor installation. Additionally, I managed social media channels and created content, which further fueled my passion for photography. This ultimately led me to shift my focus towards photography and more freely expressive creative work. And last but not least, I've also gained some experience in the gastronomy field.

In a nutshell, my professional journey has been a colorful mix of practical, organizational, communicative, and creative elements. I would be absolutely thrilled to bring these skills to exciting projects or hostels and, of course, to learn new and inspiring things along the way.
