  • Description

    Hey,
I'm Mia, I´m 20 years old and from Germany. This year I graduated high school and travelled around Europe for 4 months with my two best friends. We hiked and hitchhiked all the way with nothing but a tent and everything that was essential in our backpacks. We didn´t spend any money on accomondation. Instead we used Couchsurfing, visited friends and asked strangers if they know a place where we can sleep. In the end we set up our tent in various different locations, whether it was a greenhouse, in the hay next to the cows on a farm, a cave in the mountains or the garage of generous strangers. It was an amazing experience, I became even more stress-resilient than before and we met so many goodhearted people! I always knew that I want to travel, but this experience fueled my passion even more.

If my friends described me in three words they would probably say: adventurous, empathetic and honest.
Additionally I'm a very open-minded and curious person and experiencing new cultures and getting to know people is something that really fills my days with joy. In my opinion you learn so much more about yourself and also grow so much through those experiences and I love to learn new things and expand my knowledge.

Additionally I love being outside. Bad weather situations or a bit of dirt couldn´t bother me less. I mean, what are showers for?:) The last few months I spent in a tent or on random farms. Living a simple lifestyle outside was such a nice experience! My best friends, which are like family to me, and I went on various camping trips before. They were the highlight of my childhood!:)

When I'm at home, I mostly paint, meet up with friends or write some Poetry. Being creative is my way to express myself:)

    Working experience:
After graduating and also during school I worked in various jobs. When I was 16 I gave tutoring lessons in German and English. It was a nice experience and it taught me a lot about empathy, different perspectives and patience.
Every year I work for a whinery as waitstaff on a festival and it's always so much fun to interact with the customers!
Additionally I did eye tests and took passport pictures and I worked for an eye to eye marketing company. There, I worked in the areas of recruiting and fundraising, and through this, I learned a lot about perseverance and energy management.

    Other experiences:
When I was younger I spent many hours of my day working at the stable where I learned to ride. In conclusion cleaning the paddock, administering deworming treatments and preparing horses for riding lessons and feeding them is something that I already learned to love and to view as normal at a very young age. A few years later I also had some English riding lessons and learned more and more about natural horsemanship. I would definitely describe myself as a leisure rider though but I am open to learn more!:)

Additionally a few years ago I did an internship in a wildlife conservation and rehabilitation centre. That was one of the best experiences I've got to make so far! Even though half of the day consisted of doing laundry and tidying the cages I loved every minute I got to spend there! When i´m passionate about something I usually become hyper-motivated and try to help out as much as possible. My colleagues were also such nice people. They enriched this experience a lot. I´m also still in contact with the owners.:)
