Description
I am a Bedouin, named Ghassab, and I am living in little Petra.
I was born in a cave in Petra. All my family is born in caves, and nowadays they live in a village, that was built by the government. We are real beduins, still living in the mountains, often staying in tents and caves.
I have a herd of 60 goats which me and my mother look after, taking them up into the mountains every day. My mother is 85 years old and is a healer with natural medicine, she knows all about medicine from herbs, and until a few years ago assisted with births. She speaks arabic and is very strong and healthy for her age.
I studied natural medicine and yoga, and I am specialized in physiotherapy (cracking joints).
Now I have ideas to make a good place for tourists, around my cave, so everybody can enjoy Eco life in nature.
Here in Jordan I have my own travel organisation and I am also working as a guide. I speak 3 languages which are Arabic, English, German.
I am looking for volunteers for two types of volunteers:
1. People who like to work with animals, to help herding the goats up in the mountains, as well as cleaning and feeding them at the stall.
2. People who have experience in Social Media/marketing who can help me set up and maintain my social media profiles to share my work and offer my hiking experiences. If you have experience/like photography this could be a good way to contribute.
I look for volunteers with plenty of time and patience, happy to adapt to different situations and learn more about Bedouin culture. Working hours are flexible and sometimes I like to make nature trips with my guests.
The work is from one week to three weeks, but are volunteers are welcome to stay longer if it is a good fit.
During your free time, you can go hiking, learning Bedouin cooking, enjoying nature, visiting Bedouin families or listening to the silence... and of course visiting Petra.
We have house in Little Petra where you can stay during of your time with us in Petra. You will have dinner and breakfast either in my mother's house or in the place where you stay. If you go goat herding with my mother in the mountains, you will have lunch in the mountains and traditional Bedouin tea made on the fire. If you stay at the house, of course I will serve lunch there.
If you like animals, nature, and are eager to learn about Bedouin life you are very welcome and I look forward to hearing from you.
Hope to hear from you!! We are accepting volunteers

I will be happy to share my knowledge about Bedouin way of life (culture, food, activities, knowledge about nature...).
I can also share tips about meditation and yoga, for self-healing.Help
As mentioned before I am looking for two types of volunteers. People who like to work with animals, to help herding the goats up in the mountains, as well as cleaning and feeding them at the stall. Herding goats (with my mother) from the early morning until evening, in the mountains. Some days helping cleaning the stalls or feeding the baby goats. Additionally, I am looking for volunteers who have experience in Social Media/marketing who can help me set up and maintain my social media profiles to share my work and offer my hiking experiences. If you have experience/like photography this could be a good way to contribute. Of course a combination of both is also possible. I would be happy to discuss this with you.

You will have access to a private room in my house in Little Petra. Depending on the time of year it is also possible to sleep in one of my caves in the mountains.
What else ...
I am living a sober life in nature, and want to make everything eco.
I have a jeep for transport.
I am a really good cook.
The area where I live is a great place for hiking or outdoor activities in general. Petra is really close, and you can spend your free time discovering the "City of Stone".
Not too far are also other places worth visiting : Shobak castle, Wadi Ghweir, Wadi Araba and its high sand dunes, Petra mountains and canyons. Further are also Wadi Rum and Aqaba, for a week-end for instance.
The city Aqaba, where you can go diving in the Red Sea is 1,5 hours away by bus.A little more information
