Description
Hello everybody! My name is Deifallah, I'm a bedouin and I run a camp in the Wadi Rum desert with some friends. Our camp is situated in the middle of Wadi Rum. The camp offers a great experience for everybody who wants to spend some time in this picturesque desert. We organize a lot of activities and love spending time with tourists as they always share and teach us something new about their culture.
Types of help and learning opportunities
Hospitality/TourismHelp with Computers/ InternetCultural exchange and learning opportunities
First, since you'll be living in the camp with us, you'll get a look into bedouin culture, you'll experience our customs and traditions. Plus, you'll share meals with us, so if you want we can teach you some traditional Bedouin recipes and you can teach us yours. Of course, joining our camp is also a great opportunity to improve or learn Arabic, and we'll be glad to learn about your culture as well!
The volunteer will meet many tourists and will be able to share some quality time with them, sharing and learning from their culture.
Next to that, you can go for beautiful hikes and climbs up the mountains and you'll have a good chance to see (baby!) camels.
Last but not least, the desert offers an amazing view right when you wake up and open your tent, you can wake up early to see the sunrise and enjoy the sunset in the afternoon; also, looking at the starry sky at night is absolutely unmissable.Help
I mostly need help with Internet. The volunteer will help managing the official website of the camp and advertising on social media, managing our TripAdvisor and Booking.com accounts. To do this work you will need to bring your own laptop as unfortunately we do not own a computer.
Secondly, we need a little help with the tourists. This would be very basic work such as giving the guests tea and taking the food from the kitchen to the dining tent.
We're always trying to make the camp better and to offer the tourist a great experience, so feel free to share new ideas and different opinions.Languages spoken

We offer a private tent for the voluteers, while the bathroom is shared with the tourists. When the volunteer wants to move from the camp, we can drive them. Note that the camp has limited internet access.
You will get breakfast, lunch and dinner included for free!
It's a wholesome, delicious and healthy meal.What else ...
There is a bus from Wadi Rum to Petra, one of the 8 wonders of the world. If you come here, you could spend your weekdays here, then go to Petra at the weekend, and then return to camp afterward using the same bus. There is also easy access to Aqaba, a great place to go diving/snorkelling.
