I'm particulary interested in a workaway in Milan area or vicinity
----------------------------------------I'm Daniela, my nickname is DaDDa and I'm Italian.
When I met Workaway I really liked the idea of traveling and getting in touch with the local culture and so I left for some little trips :-)
Later, during the pandemic period, I had many workaway experiences, I visited wonderful places, I met many people and there was often a very interesting cultural exchange, even if since it was a particular period, I couldn't go far away.
I am a Designer of clothing, and as all the creatives I like to exchange ideas and know people.
I am passionate about Art, Crafts and Music.
I like big cities but also love nature.
I also had several travel experiences before workaway, in Europe, United States, North and South Africa, East and Middle East .
I am a person sporty enough, I like to ride a bike, go hiking, and I also did a bit of trekking; I have also participated in various courses I've been practicing meditation and yoga.

Through my job I have good training in manual activities such as drawing, painting and creative activity.
Often in workaways they involve me to paint walls, make murals, decorate doors, furniture, etc ... there are some photos in my profile :-)
That my creative attitude can also be useful to "work" with children, usually they participate enthusiastically :-) I really like children and with workaway I have had several experiences as a babysitter with satisfaction !
Of Workaway I love above all the cultural exchange that is created and the place that is visited, so as "work" I improvised to learn new things and discovered my multitasking side! :-)
Thanks to my previous Workaway I had some experience in the vegetable garden , also in eco sustainable projects. I like the contact with nature :-) .
I also had great satisfaction with the sale of a special product during a fair, and I was fine in assisting the management of a BnB.
Thanks to my job I also have a good training in the use of computers with Photoshop, so I can be of help for those interested. I know also Office programs .

I do not have much experience (because I lived with my parents until a few years ago) but I have good attitudes to the kitchen! usually what I do is good :-) , then I would be delighted to be of support in the kitchen.
My native language is Italian, and I speak a medium level of English and French.
I would be very happy to improve the knowledge of the latter two, it is important for my Job, because I like speak with the people of all the world and because I love to travel.
I'm smoker but I can seclude me and go out of when smoke, so I don't to annoy others.
I'm a digital nomad, so I can't go where internet can't be used.

With regret, because there were also various moments in which it seemed there was an improvement, but in conclusion this experience for me would not be repeatable as it is too extreme and risky. In general, workaway is governed by common sense, but in this case I think it was not a value considered.
There were also positives, the place in the… read more woods is very nice and the vegan / macrobiotic cuisine excellent. But nowhere beautiful (and I have also seen much more spectacular and above all comfortable) has I never been asked for so much grueling efficiency, grueling work for hours and hours in the sun, often combined with risky situations and sometimes without what it takes to protecting yourself from splinters, thorns, etc ... In the long run it would be very debilitating. Every time I reported the risk to Mascia, she tried to have fewer needs, but almost every day it was like that.
I noticed a great lack of consideration from the beginning, when upon my arrival I learned that over the weekend (3 days long) I would be alone in a caravan in the woods and with no means to move or people to call in case of need. Here, I think this is an extreme experience to experience before leaving, because not everyone would do it. I was told there was another girl, but she arrived after 10 days. Fortunately, the boys from Mascia are back, but it was not expected. Another thing that I think it would have been correct to point out before is the almost lack of means to move. In fact, on the first Saturday I had a commitment that I could not cancel and I found myself having to walk 2 and a half hours alone in the mountains and the woods in the dark, with the huge dark dogs that scared me. An unrepeatable fear. I pointed out to Mascia that my level of fear was high, because I was not used to those places and then it got better. In case of need he would come and pick me up from the nearest village.
From how this workaway started, normally I would have changed my mind right away, but due to a number of random circumstances I couldn't. This is also the first time that I happen to not be able to leave immediately, but I believe that traveling difficulties can happen to everyone, even to the same guest when traveling and it does not seem to me that it is the right spirit to take advantage of this.
For example, after 5 days of exhausting work under the sun, when I should have rested and enjoyed the place, Mascia tried to offer me to leave for the weekend I don't know where at my expense and without local means. I didn't and I rested, but this attitude is offensive.
He did not stay to test himself in relating and trying to improve. Sometimes we did, but then I noticed that Mascia was retracing her steps and I felt her influence even after the experience was over. This doesn't have to happen anymore, which is why I decided to write the feedback.
In my opinion the workaway must be a pleasant experience for both parties. It is not the right spirit to make it become an opportunity for exploitation and much less risk.

Daniela worked diligently throughout the time she stayed with us, including cleaning windows which hadn’t been done in a very long time. She also worked outside, patiently weeding and generally beautifying the garden. She made us a lovely painting of swallows on one of the outside doors by which to remember her.
