Thank you very much to this lovely family for sharing their piece of paradise. It’s the right place to see how proper stewardship of the land is done. You can help with all kinds of projects: pruning trees, opening trails, rockwork, planting, gardening, grass cutting, maintenance of the weed wacker, you don’t get bored. Nice walk up to the falls and good play time with the dogs. Just far enough from town for peace and quiet . Look up and you’ll see mama condor gliding over her nest on the cliff’s edge. A good spot to recharge. Best wishes to Esteban, Laure and Fabien.

Volunteering with Adela covers all of the bases for a great Workaway! The work definitely involves getting your hands dirty, but that is the rewarding part. It really feels like you are helping Adela and her mom, but it also does not feel like they are depending on you for too much. Adela is very chill and super welcoming. She wants to you to be enjoying yourself the whole time, and makes an effort to make it so. She offered to drive me places in her truck regularly, and even took me to to further away beautiful places on day trips. I recommend making use of her great location to explore Ecuador after 1pm and on the weekends. Thank you Adela!!

Hi My partner and i visited Fran, Christian and Co. For a month. We enjoyed our time here very much, and felt that it was a fitting length. The accommodation is a nicely renovated stable, with bathroom, kitchen/livingroom and beds. The view from here is beautiful. The area has nice activities which Fran and Christian were kind to involve us in. We got to work with making a fence around the land. We planted a lot of trees and shrubs. We cut down some burnt plants. Weeded the vegetablegarden. One rainy day was spent making sour kraut. Frans yoga classes were very relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you for your hospitality! Best regards. Ida and Gustav

Jan was my first workaway host on my journey and it couldn't be better. I am so grateful she hostet me like a good friend. We did some weeding in her lovely garden, planted some seeds, cleaned a little bit up, talked and laughed a lot together. She often took me to wonderful places, we explored the area around Santa Cruz together. Thank you Jan for this wonderful experience 🤗!

I stayed two weeks with Sandra and David. Their place is very beautiful, nicely landscaped, full of flowers and fruit trees. The work was fair and nothing too strenuous, some painting, cleaning, garden work. I had plenty of time to explore Barichara and the surrounding areas. Sandra was very helpful with arranging my outings on the weekends. We spent many evenings having dinner and exchanging our life experiences. I highly recommend Sandra and David as the workaway hosts.

Julian has stayed with me for about half a year, and we have done more projects here than I can remember, including harvesting and preserving kitchen crops and berries, shearing my sheep, forestry work - bringing home logs and milling them to lumber, various carpentry projects, including building a staircase to the second floor in the barn. All built with home milled lumber. Julians attention to detail, thoroughness, and excellent work ethic has made him the perfect companion and help here on the farm! He is a quick learner and very reliable. Warmest thanks from me for all the help and good company, and best wishes for the future. Hope to see you back here some day!

I spent three wonderful months with Alison and it was amazing. Seeing how much she loves her animals and learning from her is something everyone should experience at least once in their life. You get the opportunity to learn about horse care, treatment, and training, but you also acquire skills for life and learn new things about yourself. Alison welcomed my friend and me spontaneously, after our last farm stay had to end earlier than planned. She lives on a beautiful property in a beautiful little house, where I definitely felt at home. Since I really enjoy silence and calm days, living on Gabriola Island was a perfect fit for me. To fully enjoy your time on Gabe, you need to be social and willing to make contacts on your own (never be scared to ask people for their contact). Gabriola is small and quiet: If you connect with nature and are comfortable with your own company, it will make you happy. If you are confident, self-secure and an independent worker, then you´ll be perfect for Alison. I have learned so much from you, Alison, and I´d even go as far as to say that you became a very good friend of mine. I like you so much, that I even watched „The Sound of Music“ with you. Alison, we had a hilarious time together! Thank you so much! ♥️🫶🏼

We are so.lucky to have Hayle here !!! She originally came to stay for one month but luckly ended up staying for three, and we couldn't be more grateful! She is an exceptional, warm, and deeply responsible person who quickly became a true friend.❤️ Her dedication to the animals is beyond words; thanks to her, two little sheep were saved and will now live a happy life 🤗 She cared for everyone with such tenderness while keeping the house in great condition. Hayley is a remarkably humble and kind soul who is perfectly content in the company of animals. The world truly needs more people like her! We give her our highest possible recommendation and would be overjoyed to welcome her back anytime! Anyone would be incredibly lucky to have her! My dear Hayley❤️ I cannot thanx you enough for everything what you did for animals and me 🤗

From the moment I arrived, it felt like this experience would be something special. On my very first night I had the chance to witness the birth of two beautiful baby goats, a moment I will never forget. During my stay I helped with preparing beds and planting potatoes, onions and beans. Of course spending time with the goats and playing with them. Cutting and preparing wood for the beautiful fireplace. The experience with the chickens was also very special. It was a wonderful way to experience daily farm life. Andrew and Laura are warm, friendly people with a good sense of humor. They are open to sharing their knowledge and their way of living, and it was inspiring to see what a self-sufficient life and permaculture can look like in practice. The house is warm and welcoming, and the meals were amazing — delicious food coming directly from their land always shared with good conversation around the table. Great homemade wine, cheese, and jams.We also enjoyed some fun evenings playing board games together. I also met some of their very friendly neighbors, which made the whole place feel even more alive and connected. Andrew and Laura are truly blessed people, living in a blessed place. I feel grateful to have experienced a small part of life there.

Thank you, Franklin, for such a wonderful experience. Being a bit older, we were a little worried that perhaps we might not be cut out for the farm work, but you made us feel comfortable right from the start and worked with us so that we could succeed. We learned so much during our month-long stay—time really flew by. From clipping the coffee bushes and working with the citrus trees to scraping and painting the avocado trees, and even the tractor, everything was a learning experience. We especially enjoyed harvesting the sweet potatoes and some corn. Reina was an incredible cook and such a joy to be around. Ángel taught both of us so much about the farm. His years of experience were amazing, and he always seemed happy to share his knowledge. Franklin, thank you for taking the time to bring us to the market each week, show us the Ox Cart Museum and the botanical gardens, and take us out for dinner. That was an unexpected treat, and you chose an amazing place. You also arranged a wonderful local coffee tour for us, which we really appreciated. One morning you even showed us the moon through your telescope that was amazing we had never seen the moon like that before—it was truly unforgettable. The views from your farm were incredible. Watching the sunrise each morning was beautiful, and after lunch we loved sitting and looking out over the valley while drinking tea made from ginger and lemongrass grown right on the farm. Those moments are something we will never forget. This was our first Workaway experience, and you’ve made both of us excited to look for many more great adventures. Pura Vida !! Phil & Susan T

Hi! My stay in Kelaa was for two weeks, but as the days were few, I can’t say the same about their meaning. Through Kelaa’s school and students, I discovered the value of hospitality and friendship; even if the language is not always the same, the sense of making others feel at home just because it feels right is something I deeply learned from this reality. Also it was a pleasure to have such a open and clear communication with Abdel (the founder of the school), Fatima (the receptionist) and Rachid (the volunteer coordinator). So, all I can express for this experience is gratitude, as I returned richer than how I left 🌻

what a blast !!! Muchas graciad Tuei and Tim, Pete and Thor. Thanks to a chance we were able to figure out a good 3 weeks deal. Worked hard and by own choice. Tim presents a choice on tasks and available problems to tackle. First we started physically by dealing with blackberry bush situation. Our last week we moved to more complex carpentary related challenges. thanks for the opportunity to learn how to use certain tools and wood working techniques. We swam in the bluest river everyday at lunch time to cool down and refresh. We would have a freedom in choosing the produce to cook with. Plenty of meals and opportunity to eat the bread and all wood fire miracles. The cultural exchange was on point! The atmosphere was great among volunteers (5 in total). We were also introduced to local neighborhood life. Tuei is a great owner who has a lot of knowledge about her land and life here in Patagonia. As we stayed during a wildfires in Epuysen, we also learn a lot about the mightiness of the fire elements and faith of living with it. The progress of work is visible during your stay, so motivation was fontaining. Best of luck to you guys!

Naty and Andres reached out to us in search for volunteers and that was the nudge that directed us towards Chiloe. For that reason we had 0 expectations and had honestly the best time with these guys and their little zoo!!! Their incredible project is the result of years of hard work, heart, skill and vision for a better planet and we left Lemuy beaming with inspiration to persue a life of permaculture. We worked hard, learned a lot, cooked DElicious meals together, and fired up the yurt sauna when the rains were unbearable. The work flow was very relaxed and chill and yet we felt so productive. Sleeping in a yurt is like going home. Like their profile says they put a lot of time into sharing Chilote culture with us, including eating oysters off the side of a boat!!! and attending the famous Tirradura de la casa (a house is pulled across a beach by bulls and local folks). It was festival season and we visited the market stands all over Chiloe where they sell their incredible products. I could write so many good things about these 2 weeks but I will leave it here. Much love to you guys y nos vemos!!! It was a pleasure to be involved in the activities, and daily life of Andreas and Natali. many cuddles to Dora, Oscar. Cali, Itsli, Guanling and our favorite Freya ( who may rest in peace)

We were very happy to accomodate Kamile as Workawayer ! Her peacefull, discret and joyfull presence was really good for us ! Even if she is a bit shy in group, she is very implicate in relationship. Kamile always gave the best in works and that was a great help for us.

This was a last minute match up for us and Marco. The volunteer program was pretty awesome next to daily chores and prep for guests rides. We were able to observe special occasions such as horse dentist, and outside veterinary class with Chepa (thoroughbred). Cultural exchange was accomplished via interaction with employees, fellow volunteers and local cowboys. Also we participated in a MEGA horse gathering which was a very memorable time, besides weekly adventures on horses ( gaucho rides, herding neighbours' cows, etc. ) Our accommodation barracks were decent, had a shared bathroom and toilet. Spacious room and good internet connection. There is a cantina that cooks for you 3x a day but we also cooked a lotttt of meals over the fire in the pessevrera. Those nights were super fun and we learned many local recipes from fisherman Arturo. Marco also taught us the art of mate. Marco proposes that all volunteers should have a purpose and personal projects during your stay. please, come with an idea for your daily involvement, otherwise the stay will be idle. Oleksii had opportunity to do some ocean fishing, while Gabrielle had some training time with Tranquerita. Go for a walk with Cheeky Perro, Clara and Troopie!

Our first workaway in South America, we enjoyed it so much Gabrielle returned for the high season. We felt so welcomed by the family and were given a very cozy cabin to sleep and cook. We worked hard and appreciated their organization and attention to detail. Their horses are soo great to work with, so sweet and cuddly and each with their own personalities. It was the perfect environment for Oleksii to learn about horses and it gave us both trust and support in this process. Gabrielle left as a confident guide and knowledge in Chilean style riding. We were greeting by the volcano daily (when it didn't rain) and surrounded by animals and nature 24/7. For us it was a perfect start to our trip.b Nos vemos crew!!!

We spent three weeks at Candace and Norms farm in February and had an amazing time. During our time there we farmsitted the place twice. Eventhough we were responsible for all the animals, we never felt left alone, as the communication was great. Next to farm sitting there were some routine tasks like moving hay or wood, but also a lot of special tasks including some carpentry and building garden boxes. Both Norm and Candace were always willing to explain and teach when we didn't know how to do something. It was an incredibly warm and nice atmosphere, where their experience in hosting workawayers becomes clear. You will always have time and space for yourself if you need it and can talk very openly about everything that might come up. We stayed in the earth cabin, which was very cozy and warm enough with the wood stove in there. We were never left hungry and felt well cared for, just like the animals;). Next to the life on the farm there are plenty of possibilities to enjoy the nature, see wildlife and get away from the busy city life. Hope to see you again during summer some time! Matti and Sophia
