Participate in this project was really unique and pleasant experience. Providing food for poor gives you special filing, which is hard to describe. Location is great, California country side, you'll meet a lot of interesting people and eat delicious food. They will take you to different trips like snowshoeing or exploring seaside. All the best in the future and thanks again for a great workaway experience.

Robert stayed with us for two weeks and was a pleasure to host. He’s a quiet, polite guy who worked carefully on sanding plaster and painting. Communication was easy, and he approached every task reliably and responsibly. Robert fitted in well and respected the house routines, making the stay smooth and enjoyable.

I volunteered at Manfred’s shelter for five weeks, and it was an experience that truly changed my life. It’s a place full of meaning and depth, and I’m already making plans to come back! Living under the same roof as the kangaroos is magical. You learn so much about their unique personalities and how to care for them with the love they deserve. The work is hands-on and fulfilling—from the morning cleaning routine to feeding. Manfred is so passionate; he takes you along on rescue missions and teaches you everything from general facts about wildlife to specific medical care, such as changing bandages on injured animals. Manfred is a wonderful host with a great sense of humor. He has created a wonderful community that feels like a second family. If you love nature and don’t mind getting your hands dirty to help these iconic animals, this is the perfect place. Thank you, Manfred, for these unforgettable five weeks. I can’t wait to come back! I already miss this place so much.

Chris and Caro are two lovely people who were an asset to have been our Workawayers on our weedy, slightly rundown orchard. Chris is so practical and did many jobs almost invisibly! He found materials to line a trench containing our main water feed, got a second hand BBQ up and running, and helped our neighbour when the header tank on our house gave us some trouble. He also was instrumental in harvesting and cutting up a swag of bamboo. Caro was good value in the overgrown part of the orchard removing much unwanted weed and tangles of creepers. They were enthusiastic and thorough in everything they did.

We stayed with Ailsa in her home for 11 days and had a wonderful experience! Ailsa is incredibly kind, she did lots of travelling herself and shared many tips and also fascinating stories about aboriginal culture. The work was mainly helping in the garden and Ailsa was very flexible. She provided a list of tasks and we could choose what to do, when, and how much. We had plenty of free time to explore Perth and its surroundings. We really enjoyed our stay and are hoping to come back at some point soon! Thank you Ailsa!

Karen is a lovely host! She welcomed me with open arms. She is easygoing and super funny. The communication was really good and quickly. Although she was busy, she tried to involve me in a lot of things. We shared meals, played games and spended some time together in the weekend. You have everything that you need in the apartment which is next to where Karen lives and the school. The time I was there, there were not a lot of student and sometimes they also cancelled so you had lot's of free time. Thanks a lot Karen 🫶

Our (first ever) workaway experience with Oscar and Ivonne was wonderful. Communication with Oscar was easy and crystal clear from the start and during our entire stay. The things that stood out to us were: 1. Flexibility - of working hours, projects, days we wanted to take off. We especially appreciated this since we came with out 1.5 year old and really needed the flexibility. 2. They genuinely cared we had a good time, besides the work - recommended local trails and places to see, made sure we were never overworked, general chill vibe. 3. Child friendly environment - they have kids as well so everyone was welcome to play outside and make a mess :) (there is an outdoor pool, keep in mind if your child is young that they may need to be supervised. there is also a high chair, crib, toys! thank you!!) We had a few rainy days but Oscar made sure we didn't get wet working outside and these were more relaxed, "stay at home", days. We also had beautiful sunny days and went to the beach, Cadiz, Sevilla and did some hiking. The area is beautiful. Our work was coordinated with us with plenty of options, we found it straightforward and satisfying. Other things to note: * I would highly recommend to rent a car if you are coming, the place is in an area of private properties, without anything to do in the immediate vicinity, and the closest town (barbate) is mostly accessible by car (5 min). My brother went running to Barbate without a car from the house, but for non-runners it's not very walkable. We were happy we rented a car for our entire stay. * This isn't a social experience built around volunteers/travelers but rather a family living their day to day life, with additional units that you stay in. You will get comfortable accommodation(!!), good privacy and simple, friendly interaction, but if there aren't other volunteers at the time don't expect a big social scene. Great if you're coming with a friend/relative you're happy to spend time with, or are happy having time alone. These were clearly communicated by Oscar before we came and worked great for us. Thank you for a wonderful few weeks, we hope to see you again in the future!

I had the best experience at the ranch. I stayed for one month, and Miguel, his friends and family welcomed me with open arms. I learned a great deal about horses and was able to progress in Spanish too. I definitely recommend joining this experience!

Linda and Janis invited me to stay with them after meeting me down at the stream where I wanted to camp. They are extremely friendly and welcoming people who have a big interest in educating about what they know and where they live. The kids are great too with lots of energy! They prepare traditional Latvian food, showed me Kandava and we went strawberry picking. It was the closest I got to experiencing the Latvian way of life and will definetly go back one day. thank you so much, Linda and Janis:)

Seven was a very good volunteer: enthusiastic, hard working, pleasant to host. She values physical fitness, and keeps herself in good shape, working out daily and attending all the yoga classes. She did some devotional songs in Chinese for our radio station using AI. We'd welcome her back any time.

Discover the warm and welcoming home of Amel & Bertrand in the Laurentians, where you’ll have your own calm and cozy space after spending a beautiful day with the girls. Dancing, playing hide-and-seek, drawing, building snow dens… the main tasks mostly involved taking care of the children and doing the dishes. Bonne continuation!

I had a really great time at Evonne's farm. She is super nice and Darell and the dogs are awesome. In the morning you walk with the dogs and in the afternoon you do some work in the garden or cook dinner which wasn't hard. I had the chance to talk to them about everything and it was really important for them that you have your 2 days off. They showed us the small town around the house and it was really amazing to have such nice people around me. Thank you for the time and everything!

From the day of our arrival, Rosa and Vincent treated us like their daughters. As two young female travelers we felt so safe and welcomed. They have become like a second family to us. We loved playing with their animals and grew special bonds with the dogs and cats. We loved helping bring Rosa and Vincent's vision to reality by building a camp ground for future travelers. We are so grateful for Rosa's amazing cooking - her food is honestly amazing and she did so much for us! We experienced so much of Belizean culture, joining their family on cave tours, jungle hikes, boat trips and other family days out. It was also so wonderful to meet a family with such a strong faith and be able to share in our beliefs. Thank you so much to all of the family. We miss you very much and hope we will come and visit you again. Lots of love, Amy and Lauren

Jana was the perfect workawayer. She saw what needed to be done and just did it. After our heavy snowfall this winter Jana shoveled the driveway with no complaints. Jana is a strong girl and loves the outdoors. She cooked delicious dinners and always offered to help me. Jana has a keen sense of boundaries; being there when you need her and going out for her daily walks. Jana kept in touch with me when she was out asking if I had something for her to do later. Her personality is upbeat and positive. Jana knows that I love my cats and left me pancakes shaped like cats when she left. If you have a chance to have Jana join your home, you won't regret it, grab her! Thank you Jana!

Elke is an amazing person, full of stories and ideas. She knows so much about the island, to be hosted by her and a discover the area through her eyes and knowledges is a real privilege. Her house itself is magic ! A big yellow house that olds memories, juste looking at it you can feel it has resisted so many storms already. Just sitting at the table and having a chat with Elke and her roomate Katja gives you a feeling of safety and calm.
