I've never had two sisters before, and it's amazing. In fact, now I wish all the Workaways who come to visit me had a brother or sister, or at least a cousin, hahaha. I had a great time with the two girls. They're two sisters who are truly available to any job and are also quick learners. We've worked both inside and outside, and their energy is wonderful, cheerful and energetic. Always smiling, they've made the time and space better. In fact, they can come back whenever they want. Thank you for choosing to come to me, see you soon.

I stayed here an entire month and had a great time doing projects. The owner Aaron is awesome and extremely knowledgeable in many different things and an all around cool California dude. The island is remote and truly a beautiful place.

my time at this place was a peaceful reset that I definitely needed. the space is beautiful and tranquil (with the exception of barking dogs but that's expected in the Colombian countryside). the living area is comfortable and the food delicious and filling. flexibility is definitely needed in terms of accommodations with the retreats, be prepared to change sleeping arrangements as necessary. the work I did was mainly landscaping and deep cleaning of the retreat spaces as well as serving food during the retreats. work hours are very respected! you must enjoy and do well with structure and schedules for this Workaway. the one thing I wish was more clear from the profile is that food is not provided on the weekend and there is no kitchen access at all for volunteers (no stove/oven, no guaranteed fridge space). Natalia (& her lovely parents) and Eyal are super kind and it was a pleasure to join them for this project!

Steven was such a lovely person to have with us at the hostel. From the very beginning, his charisma and warm presence made a difference—guests felt comfortable around him right away, and he naturally connected with everyone, from travelers to the rest of the team. He’s organized, reliable, and easy to work with, but what really stood out was how kind and respectful he is in everyday interactions. He brought a really nice, positive energy to the space and quickly became part of the little community we had. Honestly, having him around felt more like having a friend than just a volunteer. We’d happily have him back anytime and can definitely recommend him.

Anja stayed with us for 3 weeks, it was a lovely exchange. i found her to be a quirky, intelligent, caring person. She made good bonds with everyone she met here. Anja done varies jobs like looking after my dogs and cats, setting up accounts to sell clothing online for me, cleaning, organising my garage, shes not scared to get her hands dirty, she helped me with manual labour jobs around the garden. She's also a great cook, I wish her the very best on her journey.

Michal has been a blessing for us. He took over a lot of responsibility and was up for every task. He helped with every type of work and was always up for social moments within the group. Even the, by him initiated nighwalks became and established thing in the group :) Super grateful for his help and his support - we hope to have him back in the future.

I am very thankful for this experience! Tom ist a kind, friendly host, the work on the farm is easy and makes absolutely happy in this stunning landscape. Wilma the dog is funny and lovely, too - as same the chickens. The food is soooo nice and fresh and the apartment in the house, where I lived in, is modern and beautiful. The olives are magic as well as the nature there. The village is only 5 min walk away - so I recommend Tom absolutely!

Luis is a special character in the best way possible. He helped us a lot and he has been a great addition to the group with all his stories from his travels, the languages that he speaks and the adventures he has experiences. Extremely kind and warm hearted person. We were lucky to have had him at our space.

I joined the program at the request of the host. They needed English speakers near Berlin and the travel dates fit my schedule perfectly! I was able to take a bus from Berlin to Poznan. The program was excellent. I would definitely do it again if offered the opportunity. I did only give 4 stars for communication because we had a miscommunication. I didn't know I would be responsible for paying for my hotel room the first night in Poznan after the welcome meal. This was as much my own fault but the host helped take care of the situation. After the first night, everything was perfect. I loved the students and was amazed at the progress they made. I started off trying a bit too hard to just communicate, but I learned by the second day that the students love even the smallest correction. I highly recommend this as a way to see more of the Polish countryside. And will look for similar programs in other locales.

Niklas was an absolute pleasure to host, and we feel truly grateful that he chose to stay with us. From the very beginning, he was kind, respectful, and easy to be around, quickly becoming a natural part of our daily life. He brought great energy and a positive attitude, and his help (especially with photography) was exceptional. The quality of his work honestly exceeded my expectations and added so much value to what we do. He was always willing to contribute, attentive to details, and genuinely cared about making a difference. Beyond his skills, Niklas is simply a wonderful person to have around, thoughtful, friendly, and open-minded. My family and I shared such beautiful moments with him, and those memories will stay with us for a long time. I also truly appreciate the trust he showed in me by booking his Kilimanjaro climb and safari through my company. That support meant a lot to me, both personally and professionally. I can wholeheartedly recommend Niklas to any host. He will not only contribute with his skills but also leave a positive and lasting impression wherever he goes. We will always welcome him back with open arms and hope our paths cross again someday

We spent about 40 days at Grazia and Antonio's house, and it was one of the best experiences we've ever had! We truly formed a family bond; sharing time and conversations with them was the best part. They opened their home to us, we tried new local dishes, shared experiences, and became part of their routine with their animals and daily life. We had a room with a private bathroom, and we were in charge of feeding the animals and often cooking (especially vegetables we had never eaten before!!! hahaha Grazia always bought us meat because she knows we love it). We also tidied up and cleaned parts of their house. We took away the best memories and hope to return soon! They are all part of our story. We adore them!

I spent a week volunteering in Kenya because I went there due to personal issues, but during that time I realized they have a really wonderful project. When you're there, you visit the private school, the public school, and the hospital, which I think is great because you see the reality in different places. I stayed at Bonface's house, which is completely different from a house in Europe, and you have to adjust to the bathroom, the shower, the bedroom... Besides that, I think it's VERY important to keep in mind that the experience changes a lot depending on whether you're alone or with another volunteer. I was alone the whole week, and after 4:00 PM, when we finished playing with the children, I would get home and not do anything until 9:00 AM the next morning. I asked Bonface if I would see any other volunteers, and he always told me I wouldn't. When I arrived, there was a volunteer from Denmark, but she was using a different platform, not Workaway, and I wasn't told about that. Midweek, two more volunteers arrived from Germany, and I wasn't notified about this either before arriving in Africa or once I was there. At the end of the week, another guy from Germany and a girl from Norway arrived. What I'm trying to say is that the project with the children was very well organized and well thought out, but the communication left much to be desired. Bonface is rarely home because he's always very busy. For someone who enjoys being alone, this might be a good experience, but if it's one of your first experiences and you don't want to spend the day alone, I recommend asking if you'll be the only person in Bonface's house or going with someone you know from your country, because the day gets quite long being alone from 4:00 PM until 9:00 AM.

We stayed two weeks in March at Jutta's and Marco's little self-sufficient farm and welcomed us warmly at their place. It's truly a special place and you can tell that they've been putting their heart and soul into creating a living in harmony with nature. We learned a lot about self-sufficiency and got inspired to dive even deeper into it. Jutta loves to share her knowledge and she really pampered us with her homemade dishes with fresh ingredients directly from their farm. Our room was super comfortable attached with an own bathroom which we really enjoyed as well as the cozy living room with the oven creating a warm atmosphere in the house. We mainly helped outside with trimming trees, getting rid of thorny plants and helping Marco to refurnish the chicken coop. We made most of the sunny days and keeping it more relaxed when it was pouring outside. Helping to create cheese and butter at a friend's farm was definitely one of our highlights. Thank you again so much for having us and hopefully join you again at another time of the year.

Thank you Hugh and Jane for being welcoming and generous hosts. I had so much fun during the month I stayed there. During the day we all got to spent time in the sun working on the vines and in the garden. At meal times Hugh and Jane made sure that we always lots of amazing food and wine in the evenings. And they both kept everyone entertained with their funny stories and naughty jokes. During my free time I got to go and explore the local area which was beautiful. We got to spend time with their friends and family aswell which great! I learnt so much during my time there like how they do smoked cheese and smoked mackerel. I also really enjoyed spending time with the other workawayers Andreas and Andrea!
