Emmi was easy and delightful company. She took great care of Cosmo and was in good communication with me as and when needed. We didn't spend much time together because she was looking after Cosmo whilst I was away, but when we did, it was easy to have good talks and hang out, whilst also giving eachother space to rest. Id recommend Emmi to anyone and would gladly have her back again if timings were mutually beneficial. Thanks Emmi xx

I have volunteered here for 3 weeks and it was honestly the most amazing experience. Starting from the amazing staff, to the most welcoming group of volunteers that I met in my life, to the incredible people that I have met throughout my stay there. Every day is different, you can never get bored. There are many activities you can get involved into and things to do: help cooking, clean and tidy up the shelters, play with the kids, prepare hygiene kits, give out information and so on. Personally, it was my first time volunteering so I think it’s safe to say that I wasn’t the most practical person the first few days as I was still learning, but I was always guided through everything while still having space for my own action and creativity and proposals, which I really appreciated. The city is extremely safe, you can go around walking by yourself by day or night without any problem whatsoever, something that I struggled to believe before actually getting there (probably out of fear or misconception), but it was a very pleasant surprise. It definitely is one of those experiences that changes your view of the world and makes you understand the importance of a strong and united community to face difficulties together. Even though you also can stay there just for a few weeks, I would personally suggest to stay more, because once you get there I can guarantee that you will not want to leave that early. Overall, 10/10 experience. Hopefully I will be back in the future.

All around a wonderful 3 week jungle experience, together with Leonel and various other volunteers. The more primitive lifestyle and living with the basic needs and making do with what you got can be challenging but it's what I really enjoyed. The wildlife around there is amazing too, I have been lucky enough to see many different animals during my stay. The cacao plants were producing nicely and we managed to make some very delicious home made chocolate bars which was an awesome experience too. Leo helped me a lot, with feeling at home and teaching the ways around the jungle. Speaking Spanish definitely helped, but he's a friendly, thoughtful, hardworking and funny guy who tries to accommodate to everyone's needs as much as possible and is keeping the project running while his brother his wife are in Germany for the moment. Would love to visit again in the future! All the best to everyone involved!

I spent 2 weeks with this wonderful family (Giulia, Andrea, Gabri, Samu,Lulu) Giulia and Andrea were incredibly kind and thoughtful. When I first arrived in Italy and wasn’t feeling well, Giulia kindly bought rice for me and was very considerate about the food I ate as a Japanese guest. Her kindness meant a lot to me. Andrea was also very supportive. Whenever necessary, he gladly drove me to the station. During dinner and in our daily conversations, he often asked me questions like “How was your day?”, which made me feel comfortable and helped create a warm atmosphere where I could easily talk. I also truly appreciated how both of them respected my privacy. Gabri and Samu were very energetic and often invited me to hang out with them. Sometimes I even felt like I couldn’t tell whether I was the one taking care of them or they were taking care of me haha Lulu was such a friendly and adorable dog. Two weeks was far too short to fully understand how wonderful they all are. This experience is truly a treasure for me, and I will never forget it for the rest of my life. Thank you so much for everything. Ciao!!

Misaki & Yumi, two very hardworking and smart girls who have a very high level of social intelligence and fantastic communication with the host and other workawayers. Although this is their first workawayer experience, as they say, the level of quality they offer is equal to someone who has been a workawayer for years with excellent feedback. They love nature and admire natural phenomena. Through these two girls, Japanese culture is even more amazing to us. Thanks Misaki & Yumi.

The location is also wonderful and a great place to escape relality if you are looking for a detox from the outside world. I had an amazing time at vittorios place! I just stayed for a few days but I feelt very welcome from the beginn on. The garden is beautiful and the organisation of life veeery chill. Vittorio is an incredible kind person and i felt very inspired by him and the place, full of lovely and curious animals. It felt like staying at a friends house and just occasionally helping out without any pressure. You have a dirct access to the sea and orange and lemon trees in the garden. 🍋🍊🌿

Marianne spent about 2 weeks and it was a wonderful time. She has a calm, grounded presence and her wealth of different experiences and interests made for some genuinely open and enriching conversations. She takes the work seriously and is mindful of how the host likes things done, while also making great suggestions. In the veggie garden she did an amazing job. Weeding, cutting back what was needed, and she also shared some really useful tips on improving the soil that we put in use right away. The whole area looks so good now! For 4 days Marianne also sitted the dog and the 2 cats and she was wonderfully attentive with them. You could tell she really cared about their wellbeing. The accommodation was left in great shape too. To me, this was how the workaway exchange and experience should be. I 'd warmly recommend her and I hope she’ll visit us again.

**Great authentic experience and a perfect place to practice Spanish** I had a really great and authentic experience staying with Johann and Kili in Cáqueza, about 1.5 hours outside of Bogotá. It was a perfect place to experience everyday Colombian life and to practice Spanish. Johann mostly speaks Spanish and shares a lot about life in Colombia. He is very patient, which made it a great opportunity to practice both listening and speaking, as he speaks at a natural, sometimes slightly slower pace. During my two weeks there I helped with different tasks. My main project was improving the foundation’s website — optimizing the UX and UI, organizing existing content, and preparing it so the site could be published. I also helped with choosing the domain and deciding on the email address for the project. Besides that, I helped with practical things such as cleaning the patio, building a simple pipe system to lead rainwater away from the house, and organizing and storing clothing donations for the foundation. Beyond the work, Johann really included me in daily life. He showed me the town and the surrounding area, introduced me to friends, and took me to local events. One highlight was attending and documenting a graduation ceremony for the first class supported by the foundation. It was an important step for the students because this degree opens the door for further education. I also got to experience a lot of Colombian culture: Johann cooked many traditional dishes, I learned how to make arepas and I tried the local way of drinking coffee with panela (very sweet!). I also went grocery shopping with Kili and met people who are close to the foundation and support the project. My mornings were usually flexible. I worked a lot on the website, helped when support was needed, and took breaks whenever necessary. I probably worked a bit more than at some other Workaway places, mostly because I wanted to leave a finished and well-structured website behind. Johann is an incredible person who truly gives more than he has. He dedicates a huge amount of time and energy to the foundation and to helping people in the community. You can see how much people respect and appreciate what he is doing. It’s impressive to see the impact he already has and the vision he is building for the future. Kili is also an amazing kid — very thoughtful and responsible for his age and someone who clearly understands the situation around him. He also loves playing with their cat Shadow, a very sweet cat whose company I really enjoyed as well. I stayed for two weeks, which was a great experience for me, though many volunteers stay longer. Speaking some Spanish definitely helps to connect more deeply, but it’s still possible to make it work without it. Overall, I can highly recommend staying here to anyone looking for a meaningful, authentic cultural experience and a chance to contribute to a project that really matters. It’s a unique experience with wonderful people.

Anastasia was a pleasure to host at our BnB. Always positive, hardworking, and proactive, she often took initiative and helped without needing to be asked. She went above and beyond and brought great energy to the house and was great with the workers and guests. It was truly lovely to meet her and we would happily recommend her to any future hosts. Jan and Medea stayed for about 2.5 weeks and were a pleasure to have around. Jan’s carpentry background really came in handy. He repaired a door which had been stuck forever. Now it works perfectly and every day when I use it, I am happy. Together they sanded parts of the cabin, weeded the garden, and they built a beautiful countertop for a little stone wall in the veggie garden, even repairing the wall itself to make it work. The result looks just great and it added a lot of flair to the space. Beyond the work, Jan and Medea were easy to communicate with, respectful of the accommodation, and reliable. They were happy to take on tasks independently when needed. They did a lot of exploring and were very interested in the island and the surrounding landscape. Their positive energy made their stay very enjoyable, and we'd happily welcome them back anytime and recommend them without hesitation.

I visited Benjamin and his brother Moses and saw the excellent work that their NGO is doing at a local school and was greatly impressed. On this visit I was not able to spend time volunteering myself but I hope to look at this in the future and would recommend others to consider it. Their work is professional, concentrates on the most needy and shows impressive results.

This was my first workaway experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Throughout the exchange, Mazin has been a great host, he provided me with great conditions and showed me the Omani culture, history and food.I have learned a lot during my stay. It was a unique opportunity to live in the Omani way. He gave me tips and recommendations for restaurants and places to visit and was available whenever I needed something. The language exchange was smooth and Mazin is really easy to practice with. Overall, it was meaningful, fun, and memorable. Choukrane Mazin. I wish you all the best.

Nature Lovers are truly welcome at Nittayas and Yuwarees Garden. It was my very first workaway experience and I am not shure that I will find a more fitting host soon. Working in the Garden was a really rewarding experience to me. Although it sometimes can be difficult communicating with Nittaya, the interactions and situations never lack of kindness or fun. In fact all members of Yuwarees family are very friendly and comforting. They are really caring, warm people who I always felt I could talk to. On the weekends they might take you to an amazing temple or a fun festival which I will always keep as precious memories. Along my trip I can also say that I definitely tasted the best Thai food with Yuwaree in Korat. In my free time I also was never bored. You can either go into Korat city, hang around the property with lots of lovely cats or borrow their bicycles to watch the sun set over the rice fields. The whole family is very chill and I had a great time experiencing korat from many perspectives. If I come back to Thailand at any time I will be sure to meet them again! PS: If you are lucky, you might meet awsome workawayers there!
