Estamos profundamente agradecidos de haber compartido este tiempo con Izar, llegada desde el País Vasco. Es una persona simple, cálida y siempre abierta a lo que cada día proponía. Desde el primer momento se integró como una más de la familia. Compartimos momentos muy valiosos, especialmente alrededor de la mesa, donde el intercambio —como bien decía ella— fue total. Disfrutamos mucho de las conversaciones sobre las diferencias en el lenguaje, las experiencias vividas y, sobre todo, de esas charlas tan genuinas sobre la vida en familia. En cuanto a su colaboración, fue excelente. Participó con compromiso y alegría en todo tipo de tareas: desde la limpieza y organización de espacios, trabajos de jardinería, cuidando a Magnolia con mucha dedicación, aguantando a Mateo con sus chistes, ayudando a Martu en lo que precise, hasta acompañarnos en el restó bar de temporada, donde trabajamos juntas y lo pasamos realmente muy bien. Izar es una voluntaria muy completa, con una actitud siempre positiva y dispuesta, que suma en todos los aspectos. Le deseamos lo mejor en su camino y un hermoso regreso a casa! Te vamos a extrañar! ¡Hasta siempre, Izar!

Our experience with Merle was nothing less than amazing. Merle calm and grounded spirit fitted perfectly with our family. Merle and Emilia, my 6 year old daughter, formed an immediate bond. Merle assisted Emilia with all kinds of chores like getting her ready for school, picking her up, driving her to activities and most importantly, keeping her safe while both myself and her dad were at work. Merle was also super helpful with our two dogs Camila and Flo, they loved the walks they took together and all the pets and cuddles. Merle was very respectful of our home and very helpful helping around with whatever was needed, but most importantly, she became a pillar for us, being reliable and caring for all of us. Lorenza and Paulo were amazing hosts! We highly recommend staying with them and their amazing kids! Couldn't have asked for a better first workaway experience!!

I loved my stay in the hostel so much that I ended up staying 2 months instead of one and I feel like Antigua became another home for me. Everyone starting from the manager Pablo, to my colleagues and kitchen staff and the owners as well were very welcoming and ready to help at any point. Thank you!!

Lucie and her family were truly lovely, I stayed with them for about a month and it was my first experience as a volunteer, I was so nervous, but she radiates so much charisma and such a beautiful energy that makes you feel at home. Near her home you can find the red metro line at "Roztyly", right there there is a forest you can walk through, several bus options, there is a Tesco Express supermarket, and it is a lovely neighborhood where you can go for a walk. We worked in her home, where we traveled through time into the memories of her and her family, we organized things that belonged to past generations of her family and with so much respect she told me about each object that caught my attention, and we also worked in her garden, turning the soil, transplanting horticultural plants, painting, etc. The quality time was also very nice, we went for a walk in the forest, had long conversations after dinner, enjoyed the sun in the garden, hugged Šumik (the white-furred member of the family), played board games, and even went to see one of Lucie’s choir performances. Without a doubt it was a great and beautiful first experience, I am very grateful to them and I invite future volunteers to join this adventure with Lucie and her family. We enjoyed having Olga and Murat stay with us for 6 weeks. They are very dedicated and focused on their purpose for being with us, which is to help out. They follow instructions well and work diligently till the job is done. Murat doesn’t speak much English but he was practicing every day and I noticed an improvement by the time they left. Olga was always there to translate if necessary to ensure our requests were clear. They are respectful, clean and tidy guests. They are both kind and interesting and easy to have around. We wish them well in their travels.

Avec mon ami nous avons passés 2 supers semaines chez Sara-Eva et sa famille. Toute la famille a été super accueillante avec nous. On sentait qu’on était la bienvenue et à notre place. Ce sont des personnes ouvertes d’esprit, sociables, pleines d’énergie et de bonheur. Ils nous ont beaucoup appris sur le travail et leur manière de vivre. C’est un petit coin de paradis, complètement dans la nature. La région est magnifique. On a même pu rencontrer leurs amis qui ont été tout aussi accueillant. On logeait dans un endroit propre et agréable, avec notre propre salle de bain. C’était un plaisir de travailler pour eux, l’expérience a été très enrichissante. Cela a été notre première expérience workaway. Nous le conseillons complètement. C’était une expérience 100% positive et nous n’avons rien à contredire. Merci à eux !

Thaïs and Benjamin stayed with us in February 2026. Thaïs taught one-on-one French lessons to both children and adults, while Benjamin worked on updating our website. They both did a great job, and it was a pleasure having them with us. We would happily recommend them for similar projects!

María Fernanda was so helpful! She helped me make cob to fill the spaces between the walls and window and door frames. She also helped me make round screens for my circular windows. I had to go the States to visit family and she took care of my home and all the animals! She is hardworking and completely trustworthy! She also became a great friend! I’m so grateful we met! Very nice, clean and respectful volunteers, we definitely recommend them and would love to host them again!

Rasa and Riya volunteered with us for four weeks in February at our Hospital at your Door community service which provides primary care to 32 villages a week in a rural part of Gujarat. They are both professional medical doctors and very committed in helping rural villages in India. They both observed and exchanged medical knowledge and experiences with our local medical team. This is something our local staff found very helpful. They also help the children in the school with learning and practices English language skill, did a presentation about skin care to the hostel boys which is something very useful for the students who live in the campus. Riya and Rasa actively and very enthusiastically took part in all the festivals and cultural events throughout their entire stay which included mass wedding ceremony, puja. Aarti, celebrations. They made friendship with other co-volunteers staying in the campus and visited Tarapur, Paiej Birds sanctuary, Anand and enjoyed swimming in Praful’s farm. We hope they will come again to see the progress of the hostel boys as well as the medical team. The school and the medical team will miss them and look forward to seeing them again in the future. Clovis and Gabby have been with Mum and I for 3 months now, and we are sad that they will be leaving us to explore another part of Ireland. Fantastic Workawayers! Lovely people! A great team! Together with Haiko their beautiful dog, Clovis and Gabby arrived just before Christmas 2025 and got stuck straight in to a HUGE jobs list. They integrated immediately by joining in the Christmas Day sea swim and Clovis played for the local rugby team. Every task is “no problem”. We were treated to lovely French desserts they made for us. They love food and have no “no’s” list (dietary restrictions) which is a joy. They spent time off “making sport”, hiking, running, and exploring up and down the Wild Atlantic Way. They are very easy to live with, respectful, and both have a great sense of humour and are motivated to learn English. I wish them much joy on the next part of their Ireland trip. You will be very lucky to Host these beautiful humans.

Venice is very easy going, adaptable, good company. I was very happy to receive him and wish him well.

My experience with Miguel's family was pretty good ! We worked in the mornings and had the afternoons free to do our own thing or help out more if we wanted. I was surprised to see that sometimes we worked less than we thought (as the day in Ingapirca and the day we went to the cacaos plantations, we didn't work really). The meals were delicious and there was plenty of food! Sometime hard to not eat to much. In general, I helped with harvest of potato's and enjoyed cultural time with the carnaval. They integrated me into their traditional customs and I was able to participate fully in the carnival, from the opening ceremony to the family dinners, all while wearing traditional clothing. Miguel was very helpful when I lost my phone. He gladly helped me find it and go to the store to buy a replacement. I didn't feel too foreigner with this family; we only had a little difficulty with the language sometimes with the parents, but nothing major. Thank you, Miguel, for the experience.

With Mayan and Tal I had my first Workaway experience, lasted two weeks, and I learned a lot from it. They live in a small property far from cities (perfect place for taking walks or to just be with yourself), and I never lacked anything. Do not worry about water or electricity because they got you covered. During my stay I helped them with their ducks, at taking down (unfortunately) their climbing wall, taking care of Neo and Alma, cleaning and disassembling their yurt. I had free time that I could use to read, relax, and to just immerse myself into the surrounding nature. I suggest to everyone, besides trying workawaying, to give to Mayan and Tal a chance to be your hosts, because they are lovely and very available to make your experience the best it can be.

Llegué sin saber cuánto tiempo me quedaría, y al final me quedé un mes. Mi estancia fue increíble. Desde el primer día me abrieron las puertas de su casa y de su familia; me trataron como una más. El trato hacia mí fue de diez, me han tratado muy bien desde el principio. La compañía ha sido increíble. Me han enseñado nuevas recetas que me llevo a casa y me dieron mate para probar; me encantó tanto que también me lo llevo conmigo. Me llevo muchas cosas buenas de esta estancia y de vuestra cultura. El entorno es muy bonito y tranquilo. Me dejaron una bicicleta para poder moverme, y en mis días libres me llevaban a conocer el pueblo; salíamos en familia a comer... Para mí han sido como una familia durante esta estancia. Muchas gracias, Bárbara, por recibirme tan bien desde el principio y por ayudarme a conocer a Martina, Magnolia, Mateo y Emma, y por supuesto a los perros Octavio y Chloe. Andre is an amazing person to have on the team. He works hard and takes responsibility for every task given to him, always making sure things are done properly. He has a great attitude, is very friendly, and easily makes others feel comfortable around him. He’s also always willing to help, which creates a really positive atmosphere. We truly appreciated having him here and would highly recommend him to any future opportunity.
