Ramon has enriched our family life for two months in a wonderful way. He was very careful and reliable with all household tasks, cooked regularly, and was incredibly warm and patient with our children. Ramon is easygoing, open-minded, and genuinely interested in the people and culture around him. He is very well self-organized, always helpful, and absolutely trustworthy. We felt very lucky to have him as part of our family! We highly recommend Ramon to future hosts and would be more than happy to welcome him back to our home anytime.

My Workaway stay with Danie and Suzanne was truly amazing. Working on the farm itself was not only enjoyable but also grounding — it really brought me back down to earth. I loved the variety of work, especially because I was always welcome to bring in my own ideas and be creative. I stayed for three weeks, and somehow it felt more like three days. Time just flew by, and I would definitely recommend staying longer if you can. From the very beginning, Danie, Suzanne, the kids, and life on the farm made me feel completely at ease. Everything was pretty chilled, and I always felt welcome — whether it was spending time in their house or simply asking for anything I needed. I stayed in my own small cabin, which was cozy, comfortable, and had everything I needed. Playing with Miah was a lot of fun, and at the same time I always felt respected — whenever I needed a break or some alone time, it was never a problem. To sum it up: a beautiful place with even more beautiful people. I’m already looking forward to coming back one day.

Thank you, Santiago & Daniela, for such a thoughtful and honest reflection of your time and experience with us. We really appreciate the way you captured the spirit of the place and the intention behind what we’re building here. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’re grateful for the energy and care you brought to the Jardin. Your positive vibes, playful energy, and willingness to help with a variety of tasks and projects made you excellent volunteers. We enjoyed hearing you laugh and share cultures with the other volunteers and are very thankful for all that we learned, shared and improved on together during your stay. These are great people, adaptable, understanding, highly social, smart, fun to be around, collaborative and generally good energy, don't hesitate to host them. We would highly recommend both of you to any and all other hosts that you are interested in volunteering with and welcome you back to the Jardin with open arms for anytime that you would like to spend in our region. Wishing you both meaningful travels ahead. Best wishes, Darrell & Clarissa

Staying in the Hostel was wonderful, Camila and Chris are really nice people, very warm and ready to help in every way they can. Our plan was to stay with them 1 month, but as we got really comfortable with them and the volunteering we ended staying for almost 3!! The work is really good, we did 5 hours per 4 days a Week, and the other days were free, the place is really good and we had a staff room so we were relaxed with our stuff. I really recommend to come to the Hostel, make it your home and a place to meet people and make friends.

oh ziggy, the wonderhost. If there was ever a person that embodies the spirit of Workaway, it is this man. So open to every type of person, ecouraging each soul to put whatever love into the land they're called to, he really offers a fantastic exchange opportunity. Everyday, Ziggy falls in love with his land, an energy that cannot help but to wiggle it's way into your body. Careful coming here, because you might return home utterly inspired to drop it all, go off grid and commune with the wonders of nature everyday. Ziggy is incredibly open, and committed to find a living//working structure that works for everyone. He worked with me to find our best rhythm for together, doing a split of gardening, carpentry, water management (drainage ditches), and off grid living duties: cooking, cleaning, composting etc.. As a budding builder, it was incredible to get to work with and learn from a man whose spent all his life in the building trades. He has a real eye for detail, beauty and harmony. I would go back in a heartbeat to learn more skills in the craft. Ziggy was also committed to showing me the magic of Connemara, with rural roadtrips and weekend adventures to Westport for music. I recommend anyone thinking about off grid, slower ways of life to take the leap with zyg, you will surely remember it for the rest of your life. I have experienced real healing of the body and soul in that wonderful valley, things I cannot forget. Many blessings to this man and this land, I hope our paths cross in the future.

Thank you for everything David!! I arrived pretty unprepared on my part, but David made it a priority to get me adjusted as best he could, and I really appreciate that. Though my stay was shorter than the minimum, I had a great experience living and learning about the land. Also shoutout to Morgan (the long term volunteer here) for showing me the ropes and hanging out :) I'm excited to see the progress over time and hopefully return for another workaway visit in the future!

Nolle, One of the kindest and most positive people we have ever met in person, he undoubtedly helped us enormously to grow as a hostel and we had many incredible moments together. He is a great professional and a very cool friend.

We hosted Tiago for a couple weeks early last Spring. He was very helpful as we moved our of our house in preparation to begin renovations. He is a cool young dude, thoughtful and gentle, a willing worker, follows instructions well, and our 1.5 year old little boy adored him. He probably spends too much time on his phone in his free time like everyone nowadays! Haha ;) We hope he will give a chance to more workaway experiences after ours~ it's good to get out into the world and try different things. We would welcome him back, and wish him all the best!

Becky carried out her responsibilities in a professional and reliable manner. She followed instructions clearly, met expectations, and worked well with both students and staff. Her contribution supported our students’ speaking practice, and her communication and attitude were appropriate throughout her time with us. We appreciate her work and wish her success in her future endeavors. Becky can be confidently recommended for similar roles.

We really enjoyed hosting Mathijs for a couple weeks last Spring. He is a great human, with lots of interesting stories and perspectives! We loved that he traveled with a small batch of his beloved sourdough culture to bake bread for us on our farm! He is a willing and motivated helper, with a positive attitude, community spirit and a true desire to learn about our lifestyle and what farm life really is (harder than it looks on YouTube! Haha!). We would not hesitate to welcome him back, and we hope one day he does return to visit us again!

I had an incredible experience working with Diane for the 2 weeks I stayed with her. She is a grounded person, rooted in the good things; community, music, plants, dance, spirituality, and lots of apples. By some stroke of magic my stay coincided with one of the best apples harvest seasons in memory and I got to volunteer for the lovely orchard she works for. Also with the fall season and going into darkness, being around her showed me so much intention and mindfulness, things I will carry with me for a long time. I will hold those quiet evenings with the turf fire so dear in my memory, such a blessing. We originally thought my work would be more in the garden but it turned out that my skills were most useful in building and mending realms, making shelves and other carpentry projects. It felt really good to do meaningful work, and to have the space and time to try my hand at something that will last; as Diane said, "Graham, I will look at those shelves until I'm very old (Godwilling)". Apart from the volunteerwork, she made an real effort to show me around the beautiful community of east Clare, taking me to community dance classes, historic pubs and Irish trad sessions, saunas by the lake, and even a storytelling session with Irish legend, Eddie Lenihan. Overall, I had such a lovely time with Diane. She has great communication and sets good boundaries for her solo time as well as helped to foster my recharge time, bike adventures etc. She really cares about who she's hosting and their needs, making sure they have an enriching time. I loved working with her, I would go back again! I left feeling like I not only did great work, but I made a real friend. 5stars to Diane, Bodhi and Booshkins!

We hosted Mario and Saskya for a couple weeks last Spring and had a great experience. They are both motivated helpers with positive attitudes and eagerness to learn & participate in our life here on the farm. We enjoyed their cooking & Saskya's pumpkin bread recipe especially! Very grateful for their help in a time we really needed it! We would welcome them back and wish them the best in their van life adventure!

Of the three workaways i did in summer this was my favourite! The family are pretty inspiring in that they are all hardworking, resourceful and creative. They have evolved their property so much, making it into their own sanctuary. While i stayed they were in the process of building an art studio and finishing off a swimming pond. Eva and Toby are open minded, willing to teach and full of ideas for how you can contribute. Momo and Noah are a joy to be around, very intelligent and eager to help you practice your German! My tasks involved mostly cooking, cleaning and gardening. They are growing the most delicious fruits and vegetables, and we made many seasonal suppers. I stayed in a cosy caravan at the end of their property which gave a lot of privacy and is a brilliant spot for stargazing. The surrounding area is very beautiful, excellent for hiking and mushroom picking. I definitely recommend this workaway experience, I hope to visit again someday and I envy the paradise they have created for themselves!

My friend and I stayed with Leo for 5 nights and we had the best time in Chacabuco. His communication was great and he was flexible and kind about our delay getting there. Leandro made us feel at home immediately and we played music (he’s a great teacher) together and ate together most nights. He introduced us to food, friends, and traditions. He is a great cook and one of the most fun, kind people you’ll meet. In the morning he prepared breakfast and coffee for us. Leo was patient with my beginner level Spanish and curious about English and the US. We were tasked with enjoyable work like peeling fruits for jams and taking care of the land. The farm, the wonderful dogs, and the nature and peace in Chacabuco is beautiful, and Leo was the missing piece of the puzzle. I will miss it a lot and will forever remember it

Viktor is a great young man with a bright future ahead of him. We were impressed by his knowledge and skills in many areas of homesteading. He is a highly motivated worker who really helped us make big progress during his short stay. He can work independently on complex projects, and he even brought his own tools! We were also lucky to learn about his passion for dry stone masonry, and he gave a little workshop to help us start building the stone base for an outdoor pizza oven following the techniques of his school. His two big dogs are also a pleasure to have around, they are well behaved and managed by him. We would not hesitate to welcome Vik the Viking back, and we wish him the best of luck on his own project in France!
