I need one person in the summer from mid-July to about August 16. Feel free to apply for the winter period as well from about December 15 to April/May

In the fall and winter it is an advantage to stay a little longer. From August/September to the end of December and from January to April/May.
It is also possible to apply for the whole winter if you wish.
This is because it takes time to get to know the dogs and the tasks. Also, it is a busy time and training people takes a lot of time.

Living with dogs the hole year means a lot of work in many areas. Each season has its own tasks. In the summer, the dogs are loose every day in a large dog yard so they can run and play. I focus a lot with social activities and the dogs love to run and play. Most of the dogs live outside the hole year in a big dog yard. In the summer there is some maintenance, painting doghouses, fences and more, carpentry and preparing for winter. Bringing in firewood and cutting firewood may also be relevant. And every day we also taking care of the dogs, picking up poo and doing some washing and rinsing in the kennel. the work tasks are varied, but in the same time is a lot of rutine work.
Daily hikes with some of the dogs is possible. There are many areas to discover.

It is important that you love dogs and are interested in learning about dogs and dog sledding (winter) and is a responsible person. Learn about how to be a pack leader. You must love to be outdoor and love to be with dogs. It is important that you are independent and enjoy your own and the dogs' company. That you can take the initiative to do a job where needed.
You will learn to become a pack leader, use yourself, your voice and learn and study dog language in a pack of dogs who behave naturally as dogs should do with each other.

For shorter periods you can also be alone with the dogs but only after training has been done. I have to be able to trust you with the dogs when I'm at work.
In the winter, the focus is on training the dogs. In the autumn, we train with an ATV and switch to a sled when there is enough snow.
You will learn a lot about dogs and dog sledding/training. The kennel is close to the trail that goes to the mountains in beautiful nature
Live a simply life for a while and get to know yourself in a different way. Step out of your normal comfort zone. Many who have been here find it relaxing and lower their shoulders and live more like an outdoors person.

The stay includes board and lodging. In the cabin there is a small kitchen and all dry food you have in the cabin. Some days we eat dinner together, but due to my job you often have to arrange this yourself.
It is important that you eat all kind of food also fish/Meat.
Flexible hours, but about 5 hours a day and 5 days a week. Sometimes there will be help at weekends and a day off during the week.
