It was an excellent experience! Linda is an incredible woman who makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive. She is very flexible, and you can organize your days off with her to explore the surrounding area. Her house is in an excellent location, directly facing the fjord. The view from the living room is breathtaking and my room also had a view of the fjord, it was very nice and cozy with a tv inside. The activities were simple, I took care of organizing the house, which I love to do, so I enjoyed it. I chose to take days off when the weather was best, and Linda was very nice in giving them to me. Communication with her was very easy. I still have fond memories of my stay. I hope we see each other again soon! ❤️

We have many wonderful people staying here and helping on our property (as you can see from our feedback) but some volunteers that come here really stand out like Ian and Grace. They were so enthusiastic and willing but more than that they took it upon themselves to really look after the new arrivals and kept the shared facilities clean, tidy and organised. I can't rate this couple highly enough. If you are a host reading this I highly recommend you accept hosting them. Thank you so much.

I spent eight months at the Sanctuary, and it was soooo hard to leave. Everyone there is so lovely. Patty, Noah, Laura, and Thomas are the kindest people you could ever meet. They make you feel right at home. Workaways are given great attention, and their well-being is their top priority. The meals are excellent, and the rooms are super comfortable. There are lots and lots of different animals, and it's a joy to look after them every day. The love they receive here knows no bounds. A stay here guarantees you'll learn a lot, meet wonderful people, and feel at home away from home. I recommend it 3000% and give it 3000 stars ✨✨✨✨ Thank you to each and every one of you. I love you all so much.

What can we say about Ricci …miss his cheerful grin already. Ricci did a really good job getting along with everyone here, as part of a group of five for a little while; even when you could see he was visibly frustrated sometimes. He looked after the younger ones who you could tell haven’t lived on their own before. He completed tasks as we asked with minimal complaints, and led the team when he needed to, you can tell he’s an adult. We could trust him to take care of things. He enjoyed being around the animals, maybe not always their poop, but he wasn’t afraid of getting dirty. He learns quick and has a broad knowledge base of many subjects. He’s a good conversationalist, and has a jester style sense of humour sometimes. I hope whoever he stays with in the future gets to know him.

I stayed with Nihal and his family for 5 nights and it was the perfect way to ease into travelling around Sri Lanka while also being able to get an insight into daily life. Nihal really went above and beyond to make sure I had a wonderful stay, not just while I was there but for the rest of my Sri Lanka trip too. The food was delicious and I learnt so much about the culture. I couldn’t recommend this experience more!

Vishnu! He is such a smart, open-minded, hard working, flexible, calm and grounded person! Just after we met him in the bus station, we felt like we had been long time friends. He is so reliable and always ready to hear and have a chat, so fun to be with. It was so exciting to hear his story – about his life, what made him to start Workaway, his travel, and many of his workaway experiences. He helped us in many ways such as helping Captain in bamboo construction and renovating the old house, helping Jai in the rice fields from land preparation, planting rice seedlings, and to weeding, and making compost for the veggie garden. Also, he helped in the kitchen. He cooked such a delicious biryani for us with the spices from India! As he had experienced volunteering in the rice farm in India, where the people there practice the methodology that we practice here to grow organic rice, it was interesting to hear what he had done there and how the rice farmers practices and grow organic rice. We felt the time flied so quickly and it was not enough to share more though, as we know he will come back here sometime in the near future, we are more excited to hear his adventures and experiences of his life then. As you can see how great he is from our feedback and the ones from other Workaway hosts, you will have a great time with him.Hope you as Workaway hosts welcome him to your wonderful projects and enrich his travel together! Thank you so much again Vishnu! We can’t wait to welcome you soon! Terima kasih and Makan makan!

Justine and Tim welcomed me into their home for 5 months. I was supposed to stay for 1 month, but living with them and playing with Lily was so wonderful. I learned so many things, and my English kept improving. Lily was my best teacher! I learned lots of vegan recipes that I loved cooking (and tasting). We shared dinner together as if I were a member of their family, talking about our respective days, laughing while telling our best stories… Justine, Tim, and Lily made my experience in Australia something I will never forget. Thank you to them for always being so caring, lovely, and generous with me! You will never regret staying with them! P.S. Don’t hesitate to ask Tim to make you a lemon tart — it’s delicious!!!!

Anna is a lovely person. She was so kind and helpful to me. We had a lot of fun together too. She is very responsible, skillful and hard working. She always did her very best in all the things that she did. She was popular with my grand children and did good work in teaching them how to swim. I am grateful to her for everything. Thanks Anna and , have a great stay in New Zealand.

I stayed with Amy for 3 months last year and I can honestly say she is not only a great host but a wonderfully kind and generous person. If there is one thing that I really appreciated about Amy and doing Workaway with her is that she is completely honest and dependable. She without fail cooked for us nearly everyday, delicious and healthy meals (special shout out to the dahl, my favourite although I had a lot of favourites) and would often share her time with us in the evening. You always knew where you stood with Amy and her communication is excellent. I look back on the time we spent at Amy's with great fondness and look forward to hopefully meeting her again and playing some very complicated and long board games.

Hanna is a person full of qualities and details, sweet and respectful. She helped a lot with the farm projects, always eager to learn. She planted trees, learned how to make compost to nourish the soil, worked a lot with the horses, and we did therapy with one of them. Somehow, I feel that it went very well. She has a beautiful energy and a noble soul. The dogs loved her, and so did the other volunteers. Hanna always shared her knowledge with them with affection and patience. She had fun riding horses on the beach, snorkeling, and trying some of the local cuisine. She has been a great friend who is now part of our family.

Kirsty was a very helpful and positive woman. I appreciated her knowledge about natural health medicines which resonated with my needs and interests. She worked well without needing much direction. When she noticed something needing attention she took it on without being asked. She was fun and liked to share interesting stories of her homeland and past experiences. She was a real blessing during her month stay with us. I would highly recommend her as she would be a very good asset wherever she goes.

Exactly as the profile shows, I had an awesome time here chilling, painting, bartending, hosting etc. It is a tiny town but close enough to bigger places for anything you need that las tunas doesn’t have. It felt like home and is surrounded by love from the owner, the volunteer manager and other volunteers. The cats were obviously the best part, the guests are also nice. Thank you again for having me Nidia x x x

I really enjoyed my time with Lauren and her family and am very grateful for the experience. I stayed for a long time and always felt welcome, supported, and comfortable in their home. Over time, they truly felt like family. I loved working with the animals every day and learned so much from the experience. I will really miss all of you, especially Titan. Thank you, Lauren, for opening your home to me and for making my stay so positive and memorable. I will always appreciate this time <3

I don't even know where to start...! Sol's place is a paradise within paradise. the finca is a beautiful property, well maintained with so much love to details in the middle of the Ecuadorian mountains, with the most beautiful view of the sea, ensuring breath taking sunsets. The volunteers have a shared flat in the house, giving you the possibility to really make it feel like home. Yet there is no need for that, as Sol is creating the warmest feeling and makes sure everyone feels welcome! she is an amazing and inspiring person with an interesting vita and has an ability to connect to every volunteer immediately. she definitely made the ambience to feel like home together with her amazing animals! Besides working together, we created many memories, like going diving, eating traditional Ecuadorian food, or exploring the environment on horse! You will work closesly with nature and animals throughout your day, especially the dogs and cats are always around. There is a variety of different tasks that have to be done everyday, and it's perfect for you, if you're looking for straight forward gardening/farming and animal care work. I enjoyed having my hands on things so much and experienced it as meditative activities, before you have the afternoon to yourself, where you can go enjoy the beach, the mountains, or the neighboring villages like Ayampe or Montañita, which are both very active surf communities. or you can enjoy the calmness of the Finca, with its various calming corners to relax. I can't wait to come back and see the growth of the plants we planted, re connect with the horses and keep learning about a deeper connection than just out of the saddle, and of course playing with Jane, Jack and Kiam. Thank you so much Sol for everything, you made this experience truly inspiring and offered different perspectives on life. I can't wait to meet again one day!

I'm so grateful for the month that I got to spend here, it's a wonderful place and was definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Everyone welcomed me warmly and I soon felt like I had a home away from home, which is so valuable when you're traveling for a long period of time. Elisabeth is an incredible host, extremely generous, calm and kind, she was always available if I had any doubts. She had so much trust in me which felt really reassuring. I absolutely loved my tasks- I was welcoming the guests and showing them around the property, arranged their tours and taxi-boat rides and made sure everyone was happy in general. The guests were all great and really made my stay special, and many of them became friends. Every week I got the money to buy whatever I needed to make my own breakfast and lunch, which I really really appreciated. I was served a delicious three-course dinner every evening along with the guests. Andrea, the private chef, is knowledgeable and my vegan diet was never a problem, the food was great and prepared with a lot of care. Andrea has been living there for a long time so she was always helping me out. I had my own house with everything I needed and even a upper floor yoga studio with the most stunning view. The place is wonderful, I saw so many monkeys, frogs, sloths with babies, lots of different birds and insects.. And the reef is beautiful, one can spend hours snorkeling around followed by chilling in the hammock and sipping coconut water.. truly a carribean paradise. I fell in love with Mazoo and Capitan, the sweetest dogs ever who always joined for jungle hikes or kayaking along the island. Everyone working here - Leo, Ester, Andrea, Arnoldo - was great and I miss having them around. It was really difficult to say goodbye and I hope I'll be back soon. This is an incredible workaway opportunity and I can't recommend it highly enough! <3

We stayed at Heater’s for less than a week. We really appreciated her availability and kindness. The work was varied, not too much and never boring, and she made sure we had all the information we needed to explore Newcastle at its best. We loved spending time with energetic little Eden and making pasta with sweet Tasman.
