Anna and Gabriel have been wonderful volunteers during their two weeks at our hostel. They are a lovely couple, very respectful, kind, and easy to work with. From the very first day, they showed a great attitude and a strong willingness to help with all kinds of tasks. They supported us with gardening, cleaning, painting signs, and other daily activities, always doing their work carefully and with attention to detail. They are reliable, proactive, and never hesitated to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Beyond their work, Ana and Gabriel brought a very positive energy to the hostel and were a pleasure to have around. We truly appreciated their help and would happily recommend them to any other host looking for responsible and motivated volunteers.

Paula was energetic, warm, and fitted effortlessly into the family. With her infectious smile and helpful attitude, she tackled everything with enthusiasm—from hanging paintings and gardening to cooking, working in our pack house, market preparation. She brought a joyful presence to every task. It was truly a pleasure having her.

Min is a lovely host, from the first moment I felt very welcomed and supported, she always tried to make my stay very pleasant. During my stay I met other volunteers staying in the school and we had fun. The services provided are great, with two delicious meals provided every day. The teaching hours are fun, with children going from 3 to 17. The job is not difficult and if any difficulty, Min and the other volunteers would be so happy to help. I would reccomend this volunteering for someone open-minded and willing to learn about local culture. Thank you🌸

Blandine is a kind and helpful person to work with, and she was a reliable presence throughout her stay. She is responsible and respectful, and communication with her was always clear and pleasant. She adapted well to our daily routine and showed an open and flexible attitude. She enjoyed spending time with the students and was actively involved in their activities. Whether practicing together or playing games, she interacted easily with them and helped create a positive and comfortable atmosphere. Overall, we appreciated her support and were happy to have her as part of our team.

Volunteering here for 4 weeks was an amazing experience, and frankly I wish I had stayed longer. First off, when reading reviews keep in mind that based on my chats with other volunteers that the type and manner of the teaching you will do can vastly vary based on the school you are assigned. With that said, I think I got really lucky to be assigned to Wittayakhom School in Chiang Kham. It is a massive, very beautifully designed high school with over 2600 students. Throughout every day, you will be greeted with smiling faces and calls of "Hello teacher" echoed in unison from students you pass. There is also a surprisingly expansive foreign language department full of mostly local Thai English teachers (but a few contracted foreigners as well) where you will spend your time hanging out when you don't have classes. You are assigned one period where you lead a group of volunteer students on English activities that you will design (along with another volunteer) and then throughout the rest of the day, different Thai teachers will ask you to come help them with lessons, so the amount of hours you actually work will vary based on the schedules of teachers or students (if it's an exam season you may not have as much classes). With that said, if you want to show initiative and design your own lessons to take more of a leading role the teachers are also very receptive and happy to accommodate you. The students and teachers both made an effort to make me feel included; during the Teachers Day holiday, all of the foreigner teachers went on a day trip in the school van to a national park with a big waterfall near Chiang Rai. Then on one of my last nights one of the classes took me on an after-school trip to the nearby Thai Lue house (a traditional cotton making house in Chiang Kham) and afterward to a festival which happened to be on its first day, and this was honestly one of my favourite experiences since starting my travel in October. Anyway, I think that sums up how great this opportunity is, so if you have the chance I strongly recommend you to apply.

We spent a wonderful week staying with Karin and Alistair, and we would like to warmly thank you for your hospitality. The food was delicious and varied — a real daily pleasure! Karin, you are a true chef!! The work was very reasonable and well organized, mainly weeding and maintaining the garden mowing, which was enjoyable to do in such a beautiful environment. We also really appreciated the time spent together outside of work: showing us around the area, sharing funny anecdotes, and talking about many different topics. These moments allowed us to improve our English in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Thank you again for your kindness, generosity, and these lovely memories. We recommend this experience!😁

One of the best experience of my life. The association is perfectly organized and the first day they explain you its origin, its scope, how they work, everything. Shifts are clear, which makes work efficient. The volunteer houses (2) are amazing! big, clean, with kitchen, fridge, washing machine and air cool. I really felt at home. People and dogs there will steal your heart

Even if I had to leave the place in the 4th day because healthy issues (the river next to the resort is polluted and I am very sensitive to the smell, so I felt nausea all the time), the stay with Guillermo and his family was lovely. He is a very nice person and all the members of his family welcome me since the first moment. His wife Pov made me delicious food and was very attentive. The two classes I had with Sorya I enjoyed so much. She is a very smart girl, attentive and quick learn. I hope the pollution and the situation of Sihanoukvilke would be better in the future and hope this family the best. If you are not a very sensitive person about environmental pollution or smells you will be great with this lovely family. Gracias Guillermo por todo!!

Gesa slotted straight into our life here, as if we'd known her forever. She has excellent horse knowledge, and is very hardworking. Her English is fluent, and she was exceptionally easy to get along with. It was a pleasure introducing her to the concepts of natural horsemanship which she took to very easily, and also a pleasure having a helper who was an experienced and careful rider. Greg and I would welcome Gesa back anytime, and I'm sure so would Willow and the horses!

The moment Lou & Chris got out of their car the magic started. This is what Workaway is all about. They're very willing hard workers and a pleasure to have around. The accomodation was left in an immaculate condition. We would welcome them back everyday. Highly recommended.

My stay at Lauren’s was about 3 months and it was such a heartwarming experience. Lauren is a really caring and loving mom and Calla and Ellia are really energetic cutie pies ! There’s always something to do around the house, but Lauren’s often taking us out to eat or have a good time outside ! I had the opportunity to meet other Workawayers, and grew an amazing friendship with Sarah ! Lauren and Ciaran were amazing hosts, I felt like part of their family. I could not be more grateful for the time spent with them. I cannot wait to see you guys again, I’ll miss you so much. See you really soon xx

I enjoyed meeting Nitish, he was very willing and helpful to try the various jobs that needed to be done, even when he had not had any previous experience. He applied himself diligently and was conscientious especially when I went to a music festival for a few days over NYE. I left Nitish in charge of feeding animals and to continue whipper snipping to reduce fire hazard. At his suggestion he sent me photos of his progress everyday! When I got back, Unfortunately due to weather extremes, fire danger and record temperatures, there was not much that could be done outside and it was just too hot!🥵 Nitish stayed at a friend’s place, who had a cool place to stay, as I had a tent set up and this got a bit too hot. So Nitish got to experience another environment and my friend showed him around the area before his return to Melbourne. I hope that Nitish continues to explore and I wish him the best in the future. Stay well and positive Nitish😊

I had a wonderful experience staying at Galo de Allende ! This was my first workaway and it couldn't have gone better. Juan Diego and Laura are beautiful people and I was delighted and amazed at how 'dialed in' their scene was. I got to spend most of my time with Juan Diego (Laura has a busy veterinarian practice) and felt so welcomed at the farm. He was very accommodating and attentive to my feeling comfortable with my accommodations as well as any work I was asked to do. There were many baby goats at the time that I was there so I got to milk the mamas and bottle feed the kids. I also was able to help in the creamery with packaging and such. I very much enjoyed meeting and working with his employees. Speaking spanish is definitly a plus and I was grateful for my abilities so I could really engage with them. I also helped at the weekly market and went around doing deliveries with JD which really opened me up to the area and to the people. A highlight was being part of their weekly farm tour where about 20 people come. Hearing Jual Diego and Laura's story of how they got to where they are at as a farm and business was informative, delivered with great humor and warmth. People came to the farm tour as strangers and left feeling like community! I see that this is a big part of what they offer... connection and commitment to people and local community as well as practical and sustainable commitment to the land and farm practices. I spent the the nights alone (with their wonderful dogs) and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the land out there. I felt safe and nourished after being in several towns in my longer stay in Mexico. Just what I needed... The quiet and the beauty and the view of the lake. I very much recommend a stay with them if they ever need help again. Thank you so much for all your kindness and generosity of spirit Juan Diego.

Sue and Jim are the nicest people you could wish to meet and are the perfect Workaway hosts. Sue keeps her Workaway calendar upto date and always responds promptly, a big plus for all us Workawayer's who are trying to plan multiple stays on a long journey. They are so well travelled and knowledgeable, kind hearted and a have fantastic sense of humour; we didn't stop smiling for the whole time we were there, our time just flew by. They have chosen to offer 3 hours work/person/day for a great lunchtime meal created each day by Sue from a mixture of homegrown fruit and vegetables plus locally sourced produce. We worked from 9-12 doing a mixture of outdoor jobs, some with Sue and Jim and some on our own, but always with good quality tools and equipment. Sue and Jim were keen for us to make the most of our free time to explore the local area and were happy to join us on walks, show us the ideal places to tour round and to introduce us to some of their friends; Lou even went with Sue to a ballet class. Going to see the eels in the creek in their friends garden was a real highlight of our trip to New Zealand, such a unique and fascinating experience. The accomodation you stay in, is fantastic, being modern, clean and light with plenty of hot water for great showers plus ample cooking facilities to make breakfast and a light evening meal. The views are beautiful, with native bush surrounding the property which attracts lots of birds. Sue and Jim have been working for the last eight years to transform their home and land into a little bit of Coromandel paradise and it's a credit to them what their hardwork and vision has achieved. Our very short stay and work achievements (six nights) seems so inconsequential in comparison, but we are so glad to have had the opportunity to help you achieve some more of your goals. Hopefully you can save some tasks for us to get stuck into again next year - this is a definite must visit again place

I really enjoyed my time with Michiko and Jensen (and their cute daughter!), they are such a lovely family and very accommodating to their volunteers. I only had the chance to spend a few days with them but I wish I could have stayed longer, as there were lots of different jobs to take part in - everything from working in the rice fields, to packaging items produced on the farm, to helping with food preparation. Every day requires something slightly different which keeps it fresh and exciting. The accommodation where volunteers stay is in a quiet area a little way away from Michiko's house that's very comfortable and there are plenty of opportunities to go out and explore the local landscapes and beyond, including Wulu Gorge. Michiko and Jensen are incredibly hard-working and they have big plans and goals for the future, and being able to stay with them for a while was a great pleasure. Oh, and they have a gorgeous tabby cat called Ice-Cream... he's adorable! Thank you Michiko and Jensen for hosting me, and wishing you all the best for the future! You guys are great!

If you want the true Australian experience, hangout on Mount Cotton with these two. Ewen and Lesley are the absolute best. easily two of the nicest people we have come across. We could not have had more fun. Lesley is an incredible woman with a great sense of humor. She keeps the house in check, makes amazing meals, and has the cutest relationship with all of the animals on the property. She makes the animals and the workawayers all feel like family. Ewen is basically Jesus. He's able to make something out of nothing with his projects and he's willing to show you how to do anything if you just ask. He taught us so many skills in the three weeks we stayed as well as telling us stories through history lessons over smoko. During the day, we got to do real work. It felt so good to end everyday, feeling productive and then getting to have awesome conversation with Ewen, Leslie, and their family. They have built a gorgeous home on top a mountain that overlooks the area and surrounding islands. On your off days, they have a car you can use to go around and explore whatever you want in the area. Ewen does know best though on what you should be doing. His tips on hiking and exploring are top notch. James and I could not be more grateful. These two truly made us feel like family and we can't wait to visit them and stay in touch for as long as possible. Thank you both for everything and Ewen, I'm sorry that I'm so much better at lawn balls than you.

Thanks everyone for a relaxed time at your home. You made me feel welcomed. My main tasks were helping out with the kids, Xavi, Milah and Jamie. We played games, created art and read stories. The kids are gorgeous and so much fun to be around. I also helped another volunteer with making a new kitchen work surface. Jordan made yummy healthy food! The cabin was very comfortable and spacious. It was so special being in nature and hearing the howler moneys at night 🐒 Wish you all the best
