Hard to know where to begin when talking about our Marcus, if there was a 10 starts he would deserve it!. He was our first Workaway experience and this responsible young man is everything you could ever wish for in a volunteer, friend and as a family member. He exceeded our expectations in every way! … read more task. He has a fantastic personality, friendly, polite, kind, considerate, bright, happy, smart... a complete package!. He has exceptional work ethics, there is no job too big for Marcus, he always went over and above what it was expected of him. Besides fixing fences and yard work, he helped with the morning and evening chores as if he has always been here, a A true farm boy! from the first day that he arrived.... we adopted him as our 'son'. Marcus, we love you. The doors of our home will always be open for you and wherever your travels may take you, keep in mind that you have a home to come back to.

My Canadian adventure and first workaway experience started in beautiful Lumby, BC. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start my travels through Canada. From the very first day I felt like I was a part of the family. They took me out to see some of the beautiful surroundings that is found everywhere in beautiful British Colombia.
I went
… read more paragliding with the local freedom flight crew and took a 4 day trip to banff national park. The area offers great hiking, fishing, mountain biking and is surrounded by beautiful lakes, waterfalls and mountains.
I really liked working on the farm that offered a number of various work tasks, from digging and putting in posts for fencing and building projects, to simple household tasks and of course the morning and evening choirs where you feed all the lovely animals that lives on the farm. The family gets their milk from their dairy cow Bella, meat from their own cows and chickens, lots of eggs from their chickens too and a variety of vegetables from their greenhouse. The meals on the farm are excellent and very healthy, I sure miss the great cooking that takes place in their beautiful and newly renovated house.
Things are done in a certain way around the house, but when you get into the routines you begin to appreciate they way things are done.
I can highly recommend this beautiful place and the lovely family. I stayed there for about 3 months and it has been a great experience that I will never forget. I will be forever grateful for all that you’ve done for me on my first workaway experience.
